Just out of curiosity - what color combo did you go with for the 'flourishes' jersey? If I remember correctly, weren't there two in the submissions?

Does anyone know the sizing of the different brands? I know I typically need a medium in Canari (but the sleeves are snuggish) as I find it cut large, but not sure about the other brands.

The Canari watercolor jersey will be available in regular and plus sizes (up to 4X).
The Voler jerseys will be available in up to a 2X size, with the Florishes jersey in a more relaxed cut while the Filigree Wheels jersey is more of a race cut with a full zip.
The She Loves Hills jersey will be available S-XL, IIRC.

Holy crap these are awesome (sorry to dig up last week's news, but wow).
I so wish I had "She loves hills" for Ironman on Sunday. It would be perfect, and a great opportunity to show it off!! I'll buy it for myself afterward in honor of said hills. It's even green! <3 green.
Though, I love all the designs, so I might have a tough time choosing just one.

The flourishes and filigree wheels jerseys are now up on the website!
See: http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodTE_601.html for filigree wheels. This is the one you'll want if you absolutely must have a full zip and elasticized waist. It's the only one of the 4 that has these features. Fit note: I'm right on the small/medium border of the size chart. Both sizes looked good on me. So if you find yourself on the border between sizes, use your own personal fit preference as a guideline to decising whether to go up or down. If you are solidly in the middle of a size, then that size should properly fit you as a semi-fit/athletic silhouette.
http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodTE_602.html for flourishes. It's a club cut (raglan, semi-relax, 3/4 zip, no elastic at waist). She Loves Hills will have a similar cut (but different vendor). Fit note: Again, I'm right on the border line between the size small and medium. This is a semi relax fit. I could probably go either way, but preferred the way the small draped on me better than the medium. So, if you're between sizes like I am, and are wavering I think the smaller size is more likely to work for you.
Mimi's watercolor jersey will be a relaxed fit, in XS-4X. If you're wanting a relaxed fit, or need the plus size, you'll want to wait for that one.

Hard to say. This first run is 100 units in Filigree Wheels and 50 units in Flourishes. If they are a hit, we'll do another run. If they are not a hit, then we won't reprint them.
So, I guess time will tell!

I really wanted the other one, but boo-hoo on the elastic.
There were enough people in favor of a racier cut with full zip and elastic waist that we simply had to do one in that style. We chose the design with the most "team look" to it to do in that cut.
I'm glad you like the Flourishes! It's even prettier in person. :)

Wow, Susan, they look amazing! I also love that both are really bright colors for visiblity, etc. I will be honest, I don't usually spend this much on a jersey but they look so great and support this great site, so I am thinking to get both of them!
Can I assume they carry the same return policies as your other merchandise if we don't like the fit (or if we want to order a couple sizes/styles and keep only what works best).
How about pics of you and the TE staff modeling them (maybe with captions like, I usually wear a PI M or shebeest S, and here I am in a S...............). Maybe that will help us decide what size to order.
I have a team terry long sleeve jersey by voler that fits well in S, but does anyone know if that is a club or race cut?

Well, the Voler club cut is much trimmer than most other "looser" jerseys, so I like that. I just don't like elastic. Voler does the jerseys for my husband's company and I wear that, along with my "Amici" jersey the most.

We've had a few people ask about a discount for purchasing multiple TE-logo jerseys. Great idea! - but we had to scratch our heads for awhile to arrive at a fair way to do this since not all the jerseys are available right now. Here's what we came up with:
Anyone who purchases 2 or more of the new TE-logo jerseys before July 20th will receive a $20 TE Gift Code good for future purchases at TE. We will issue these codes on or about July 21st.
We will determine eligibility based on your customer account history, so please SIGN IN (don't use guest checkout) and use the same account for each of your purchases if you end up making multiple purchases.
If you've already made a TE-logo jersey purchase and you used guest checkout (ie, you opted not to create an account or sign in), don't fret, but please send an email to jeff@teamestrogen.com so I can manually track your order(s).
FINE PRINT: This offer applies to net sales of the jerseys. If you buy 2 and return 1 (and don't order another one), then no gift code for you! If you buy 3 and return 1, all's well :D

Just received the jerseys and they are beautiful! Can't wait to wear them! :D I ordered a large in each one because I'm about 15 lbs heavier than Susan (based on our weight loss challenge numbers) and couldn't imagine wearing close to the same size. I'm right on the border with the filigree--perhaps a medium could work, but for right now the large seems OK. The "Flourishes" is definitely too big, so I'll need to return for the smaller size. I shoulda paid more attention to the fit note. No issues at all with the elastic on Filigree--it seems very comfortable.

Fit note for anyone interestsed.
I received the 'Flourishes' jersey on Saturday. I ordered a medium because the medium club cut Voler fit me great for the Amici Veloci jersey (in sleeveless).
The body fits great but the arm openings are way too tight. If you have big 'guns' like me, the arm elastic could be a problem and you may want to size up.
It is a beautiful jersey though. I haven't decided what to do about it yet.

I have to admit that when the Flourishes jersey was picked my thought was less than enthusiastic. I thought it looked too frilly for me. Then, I saw the picture of the actual jersey and the slight modification of the color really made it look appealing. In person, it is even better--the light color makes the difference between an "OK" jersey and something more interesting. Good job.
Fit wise--maybe not perfect for me (a little short in the torso for this giant), but I'm comfortable enough in it (and it looks great) that I'm happy.
But those rear pockets! No tiny girlie jersey pockets. I think I can fit my entire bike into one  No fear of a lost wallet.

I am glad its not just me. I ordered both jereseys in both a S and M, with the intention of keeping one of each.
The flourishes M was way too big, very baggy on the hips. The S fit nicely in the body, but I also thought the cuff felt tight on my arm, and it was cut quite short in the front. I so wanted to keep it, but for that kind of money it had to fit better.
The filigree fit better, I did check and my team terry long sleeve jersey is a small voler race cut, and I would say the fit through the body of the small was identical. But, again the cuff of the armband felt tight. The M was definitely too big, very long, and baggy under the arms.
I was so sad, but I had to box them up and send them back. I realized all my other jerseys are made of a stretchy fabric like dristyle that conforms to your body, and so for me perhaps that works better. I am lean, but also pretty muscular.

OK, I tried on my x small Flourishes jersey. It fits! However, it is looser and a bit longer in the back than my Amici Veloci jersey and my DH's company jersey. At first, I thought maybe the company jersey was a race cut, but I never would have ordered something with elastic (and I was able to try on the samples when I bought it). I think it might actually be just a tiny difference, that a few washings will take care of.
I noticed the elastic in the sleeves, but it didn't bother me. It's not "heavy" elastic, just light, which I love for keeping arm warmers up. I love the red, too.
I was just concerned that it would be too long and baggy for this short body.

Does anyone know if the elastic comes out of the arms? I just never had a jersey with elastic in the arms like that, and it wasn't comfortable. I didn't even realize it was elastic when I tried it on, it just felt too constricting on my arm.
I hope I wasn't too hasty to make the return. I guess since my team terry race cut voler jersey is long sleeved its not an issue. I should add that they LOOK BEAUTIFUL, so I hope my fit problems don't scare anyone. I am just very picky about fit when I spend that much money on something.

Hei lph!
I'll be going to the States again in October. If you want to order anything from TE then, you could have it sent to my Mom's place and I could bring it back in my luggage. A jersey wouldn't weigh much or take much space, and I'm still attending a meeting pretty much once a month down in Oslo so I could get it to you without further postage.
So far I've been using the time between meetings and flights to meet with 2 grad students I have down there, but they're both about to turn in their dissertations, so one'a these days maybe we could meet up again for coffee.:p I could even take along my folding bike and do a bit of a ride, although I'm waaayyyy slower than you.:o

Trisk, all of the Voler jerseys I have are quite a bit shorter in the front than the back. Not sure if your Terry jersey is like this, but perhaps Terry had them change something for that jersey? I actually like this, but it did feel strange when I got the first one.
Triskeliongirl
06-24-2009, 07:01 AM
Crankin, you know, part of it for me is that when I was heavier and needed a large I think I just *got used* to longer length jerseys. But, it seemed the length in front on the club cut was shorter than on the race cut (although I didn't measure it). I know it would be longer in the 'cycling position' and if it hadn't been for the sleeve cuff feeling tight I may have been willing to try the shorter length, but it was like '2 strikes and your out' for $80. I wanted to support Susan and this site, I *liked* the jerseys, but in the end I felt I had to send them back.
This is a common problem I have, and why I say I am between a S and a M on top. On the size charts I am a small, but often I have a problem with the length on the small garments. When its a stretchy fabric like shebeest dristyle I can size up to medium and have it still be form fitting.
Does anyone know if the elastic comes out of the arms? I just never had a jersey with elastic in the arms like that, and it wasn't comfortable. I didn't even realize it was elastic when I tried it on, it just felt too constricting on my arm.
Short answer, YES. Elastic can be removed from the sleeves.
I have a short sleeved jersey that has elastic in the sleeves that I'm not particularly fond of and I'm considering removing it. On my jersey, the elastic is attached with a serger, then it's hemmed with a "cover stitch" -- at home here, also done with a serger (gotta have the feature), probably a specialized machine in a factory.
When I get around to it, should I choose to take the elastic out, I'll have to use my seam ripper to remove all that stitching, at which point, the elastic will simply fall away. Then I'll have to put the hem back in. Personally, I'm considering putting more elastic in -- a longer piece, so that the sleeve still has some weight to it, just to keep it from driving me nuts should it decide to be crawly. It's not that the elastic is tight, it makes that sort of "blouse-y" thing happen, and I'd prefer a smooth look.
On the other hand, it's just a cool jersey, and I'm wearing it happily anyway until I decide what I want to do with the sleeves -- sometimes it takes me a LONG time to get around to this kind of thing!

The more I think about, I think the problem is that I have broad shoulders, but slim hips. Its a common problem for me that when things fit in my hips they are tight in the shoulders. In fact, I have one suit I bought as separates, and the pants are a 4 and the jacket is an 8!
I was just noticing today that the cuffs on the sleeves of the everyday blouse I am wearing feel tight (its a very fitted cuff even though it doesn't have elastic), but I think if the shoulders were wider it would be OK since its not that the armholes are too small, but spaced too close together, so maybe that is also the problem I had with the jerseys. While of course one solution is sizing up so they fit my shoulders better, then they look all baggy in the middle and especially around my hips, so its a bit of a catch 22 for me (and perhaps why I also prefer stretchy everyday tops over blouses that can more easily conform to my shape).
So, again, I hope I didn't make anyone afraid to try the jerseys. I think I just found out why I always prefer to buy stretchy jerseys and tops. The jerseys really are beautiful, and congratulations to limewave and urlea for their amazing designs!!!!

06-24-2009, 09:18 AM
Yes, I think the elastic would come out of these sleeves just perfectly. If you don't have bigger arms, you'd never know there was elastic there. The sleeve hangs smoothly on it's own (no puckering). I think that just removing it would totally work.
I have this problem with many, many tops (not just biking). Same thing with bottoms too. I've got a long, and still somewhat lean torso, but short muscular arms and legs. I need smalls and mediums to fit my body, but large and extra large to fit my appendages. :p This is not a normal combination for women so unless you are built like me, I'm sure the arm elastic is going to be fine.

I got my jersey yesterday. I love it! I even like that it's shorter than my other jerseys. Of course, all of my other jerseys are men's. This fits much nicer.
On another note, I too have large arms. It's not uncommon for me to have to size-up on a shirt just so the arms fit and then get the shirt tailored. The elastic on the sleeves is not very noticeable to me. I may have it taken out, but it's not as bad as I was expecting.
Thanks TE!

Wow, you look great in it Susan!!! Thanks for sharing the photo and body measurements. I am still so impressed by your weight loss, you have set a terrific example for everyone on this board.
But, the info. provided raises a question. According to the garment size chart, its says a M fits a bust of 34, yet your bust is 36 even though your waist corresponds to the indicated waist size. I have seen this on other size charts, where according to the charts I am a S in hips, M in waist and L in bust. Unless I am built strangely, it always seems to me like the bust measurement given is out of proportion to the waist and hip measurements that are usually given (in this case only waist is given, but look at say a campy for women size chart). When we see this, does it mean the bust measurement is not taken at the fullest part, but just under the arms, or under the breasts as in a bra band size, or what does it mean???

If you click on the "how to measure" link near the size chart, it will tell you to measure around the largest part of your bust....for that jersey. I don't know about other brands.

But that is my point, Susan told us her bust is 36, yet looks lovely in the M. The size chart says the bust for M should be 34........., hence my confusion.

Interesting that you should ask that, as I was just questioning that very thing yesterday when we were putting the jersey up. I double/triple checked the size chart info from the vendor, and that's what their chart says. I think it's wrong, and will probably just go ahead and modify the chart. We always hesitate to do that, because it's never a good thing when there's a discrepancy between what we post and what the vendor publishes, but in this case I think we may have to do it.
What I suspect has happened is that they probably mean 34b/c rather than 34 inches. I need to do a little more research on this one, so it may not change right away...
I'm out of town right now (in Sunriver for an Olympic Tri on Sunday) so nothing will happen until next week at the earliest.
Sorry for the confusion. :o

I wore my Flourishes jersey today on a shorter (20 mile) ride. I started with arm warmers and that was a perfect combination, since the sleeves are long enough and have enough elastic to actually work with the arm warmers. Excellent pockets. I could have put the kitchen sink in there...
Even though I also wore my new Shebeest S Pro shorts, with the lower rise front, the fact that the shirt is shorter in the front didn't matter. At no time did I feel like any skin was showing, no matter what position I was in. I do feel like there is a teeny bit of extra looser material sort of in the front torso area, compared to my other 2 Voler club cuts. But, I think a washing will take care of that.
The red matches my bike and my red Sidis. which I finally got after coveting Denise G.'s! Now I just need a red helmet.

Got my jerseys today. Both the filigree and Hills look great! Filigree fits really well. Hills I'm going to unfortunately have to exchange (boo!); it's tight across the chest and tight in the arms.
I'm a 36C and got the small, going to go up to the medium. Should have probably known better after Susan's post, but I'm normally a small and like tight jerseys so I thought I'd risk it.
So FYI to anyone that's borderline. The Hills jersey fits smaller than the filigree (at least for me).
Hoping the medium gets here before the weekend so I can wear it on the epic climb group ride. I think I'll wear the Filigree one tomorrow when I'll log my 500th mile for the month!

No pictures, here, either (pictures steal the soul )
I feel like a kid a Christmas. I haven't bought new jerseys in years--just haven't found any I liked. Now I get three this year! Woohoo!
She Loves Hills is better in real life than expected. Very nice! It is clearly a very different fit. I have an XL in both that and Flourishes. Both fit, just differently. Hills is more a tight jersey fit; Flourishes is relaxed. The relaxed fit is necessary on Flourishes because it has a white zipper--if you buy it to fit tighter, the zipper will show.
I'm loving both my bright new stylish jerseys....can't wait for Mimi's to round out my set (and then, I think, the pocket book will need to take another two year jersey buy hiatus ).
As a statistics geek, it would be very interesting to see how the jerseys sell--forum readers vs. people who just shop TE. They're great jerseys, but, to readers they also have a story.

Hey y'all, happy TE-dressed cyclist here!
I got the flourishes jersey - I was a bit skeptical when I placed the order because the web page said 'club fit' and I usually buy them race fit so they are more tight, but I liked the design so much that I still wanted one! :D
It came yesterday and oh does it look wonderful!!! I tried it this am on a ride - it feels great and it is a perfect match with my red/black assos shorts...
Thanks Susan - and thanks to all the artists/designers that contributed to the TE jerseys!!!

I was wondering the exact same thing!

The last of the 4 jerseys arrived late yesterday, and got put away today, and our photographer got them online quickly today. (I don't think Susan has even seen this yet :-) The pic of the plus size jersey is not quite right yet, he used the same pic he took of the regular size. The plus size is less "shaped", a little boxier. That photo will get corrected next week.
See the jersey here: http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodTE_604.html
Have a great weekend everyone :D

It helps to work at the place that sells them ;-) That is how I got the "Flourishes Jersey" to wear the day after they arrived. Actually, I don't have one of the Watercolor Riders yet. Susan processes the employee purchases and she is out of the office for a couple more days. I have to wait until she gets back :-(

I ordered a Flourishes jersey today. I haven't bought a new jersey in a long time. I'm looking forward to wearing it with my red Luna.

I splurged and got the yellow Filagree Wheels and the Flourishes. They are both absolutely beautiful. I don't buy a lot of jerseys anymore but these are worth it. I've worn the Filagree Wheels but I haven't worn the Flourishes yet. Interestingly, I ordered a medium in both and they both fit equally great with no problems in cut difference, bottom elastic, shoulders, or the sleeves. I'm lucky I guess.

I saw the watercolor jersey in person when it came in (I was picking up my other two jerseys!) and it's quite pretty!
I am also the proud owner of both the Filigree Wheels jersey and the She Loves Hills jersey and they are both beautiful. I got them both in a large and exept for the arm openings, they fit me pretty much the same as the medium in the Flourishes jersey did (which I returned).
The elastic at the bottom of the Filigree Wheels is actually not bad. I was afraid that my generous 'pear' figure would make it ride up too much, but so far, that's not the case. I think it helps that it's not a super long jersey like one of my other elasticsized ones, so it hits in the right place (and not low on the hips). I have not worn either jersey for a ride yet as my weekend was stolen away from me by a house that needed painting. :(
When I do, I'll try to get my H to take some photos. :)

I received my Flourishes jersey yesterday, and it fits wonderfully (I got a medium and am the same measurements as Susan). I love the fit and the deep pockets. Looks great and feels great. I also received some new shorts and some socks. It's been a few years since I bought a new pair of shorts, and I was informed my my BF (on a group ride, no less!) that the shorts I was wearing had gotten just a bit too thin for polite company.

Chances are [Johnny Mathis sings in the background] you'll have to wait till after STP. Am in focused packing mode. By then, probably someone else will have been able to post it in all its glory.

Well, I finally hit a home run with the She Loves Hills Jersey. Its funny, at first I thought I'd base my decison on what to order on the design, but the designs are ALL SO AMAZING, in the end it came down to fit, at least for me.
What worked for me with the She Loves Hills, is that while the M fit me in width like the Flourishes and Filagree S did, it gave me a little more length which I needed, and it had a more traditional length sleeve without elastic. I just detest capped and/or elasiticized sleeves. In fact, the M She Loves Hills is quite slim fitting, whereas the other 2 styles in medium looked too loose and boxy on me. My body type is broad shoulders, well endowed boobage, but slim waist and hips (kind of V shaped). As soon as I saw it on model Susan, I knew it would work for me. Now, I know I am being picky here, and while I was willing to spend this much money on a jersey, in part to thank Susan for providing this site for us, in order for me to spend so much on any item of clothing, I have to really love it.
Tomorrow is our "Is this the Last Hill" club ride, we start in Bourne Texas and go into the Texas Hill Country to Comfort, Centerpoint, Waring and back to Bourne. Just when you have had enough, there are 3 climbs right at the end to get back into Bourne. So, it will be an appropriate inaugural ride. I'll try to get someone to snap my picture, but if only guys show up it may not happen.
I will also add that the green is even prettier in real life than in the pic. Very bright, so while not 'fluroescent', I think it will be visible in traffic, yet the jersey is light colored enough to stay cool in the texas heat.
I love Mimi's design as well, but I know I don't look good in that Canari style, so I had to take a pass. But, I think it was a good move on Susan's part to have them printed in so many different styles, to suit all body types and fit preferences.

My jersey came and fits perfectly! Sorry about the pose. Not very photogenic. But you get the idea. The material has a lot of texture in it, makes it look more painterly

Oh, it came out lovely Mimi!! I was put off by the so-called 'relaxed fit' in the descrption, but it doesn't look that relaxed at all on you. Are you wearing the small or medium? I actually voted Mimi's design as my first choice, but then hesitated about the style. I may have to reconsider.
I think think it would be great if the gals at TE did a photo shoot of all of them modeling different jerseys, and then posted info on sizes, etc. There should also be a special link at the TE website to these.

Ooo... I love these pics of the water-color jersey. Thx for sharing! Well, I already own the yello wheels team cut, and She Loves Hills... but I might have to add this one. Like Trisk, I was not sure I wanted relaxed fit. But, I think it looks a bit more fitted than I would have expected.
OH, btw... did our coupons get issued yet for multiple jersey purchases yet? I was camping without a pc and am catching up my in-box. Don't think I saw a TE coupon... didn't want to accidently delete it.
Maybe the coupon can go towards a third jersey lol.

The jerseys are really gorgeous, but any thoughts about having them sleeveless? I don't like sleeved jerseys... i think coz it reminds me of my fat arms.

I rode the Oregon Bike Ride last week. Jeff got some great shots of me in the new Filigree Wheels jersey. I loved wearing it, and it looks stunning with the Sugoi RS Shorts in black/white. FYI for fit info - I'm wearing the small in this jersey. Current measurements are 35()-27.5-37.5.
