My Mammaw used to make a fabulous spice cake from scratch, she said she can't find the recipe anymore because the cookbook was so old it fell apart. What I know, it was a Calumet cookbook and the frosting was brown sugar frosting. It is possible the frosting is not from Calumet but the spice cake is. I am guessing from picking her 91 year old brain it would have been a Calumet from the 50's?

I have tried a little googling but am empty handed so far. Anyone have advice on finding this beloved family recipe? :)

Here's another one from the 1920s.

I think I may have an old Calumet cookbook at home that I found years ago at a tag sale. I'll check when I get home from work.
