Hello all!

I have a question. I find that when I increase my riding, my forehead breaks out a lot more, right where the padding is....

Does any of this happen to you? What do you do to prevent it?

thanks!

Do you wear a Buff under your helmet? I find if i don't use something like a Buff or a Ground Effect wrap thing, i am driven crazy by sweat dripping into my eyes, pimples etc.

Are you sure it's pimples?

I get dyshidrosis, which is a form of eczema that shows up as little fluid-filled bumps. Too much moisture brings it on - mostly I get it on my hands from wearing gloves, but I can get it on my forehead from the helmet too. I'm especially susceptible to it this time of year when it first gets warm and my skin has to adapt to the warmth and humidity.

If you think that's what it might be, anything that keeps the area dry will help (think corn starch). Usually if I've got a full-blown breakout I have to resort to using cortisone, but use it sparingly on your face and be very careful around your eyes.

I get pimples on my neck where the strap touches. It used to be only a winter problem when I wore my helmet for snowboarding but now it's all year round from commuting on my bike.

Haven't figured out what, if anything, can help. But I can empathize!

Wash the padding with shampoo or what have you, or do the buff thing.
