I went to the dentist today for my regular six month check up. Much to my surprise, he noticed a white bump on the underside of my tongue that he is concerned about and referred me to an oral surgeon for a consultation. I immediately called for an appointment and now have to wait about a week and a half to get in.

He told me the oral surgeon might say to watch and wait a couple of months, but I am thinking I want a biopsy now!

I never, never, never would have found this on my own. Even now I am not completely sure I am looking at the right place. Thank goodness for regular dental exams and a conscientious dentist.

Anybody have anything like this?

My son would get white spots on his tongue periodically when he was younger (he is 12 now), but they would always go away. He hasn't had one for a long time now. Probably a good idea for you to get it checked out though.

Definitely have it checked - but I wouldn't stress too much yet. I've had little "pimples" appear and then go away. They never turned out to be anything - more likely than not, it's nothing to worry about. So, don't worry and verify that you're correct not to:)
