Last night I did the weekly women's clinic/ride at a trail I am no comfortable on. Wow, I feel so much more confident now riding over the rock gardens, these clinics are a godsend. On the way back I was crossing a rocky creek and following our leader. I made it pretty far across then lost the line, ran off the trail, panicked unclipping and SPLAT! My left knee took the brunt of the fall and my left elbow, there seems to be some bruising on the left hip but it must be deep because you can't see bruising.
And funny thing is I got up laughing, but I am limping today and ready to ride again. :p

well the good thing is you didn't put out your hand and break a wrist! Way to fall!

FBG- I did that two weeks ago (should admit how often I crash?)! I bruised the base of my palm pretty bad but was thankful I didn't break my wrists. I am not tiny boned but those things seem so fragile. I bruise so easily I have to tell everyone I mountain bike so they don't stare too long wondering!
My knee is still a tiny bit swollen two days later- oy!

Or a collarbone.
Hope you're feeling better!

Much better, thanks! My knee is still purple but Tuesday it hurt to stand on it which was a bit scary. Now, it is just ugly. We are going mountain biking tonight, I hope to stay upright the whole time. :o

Traumeel cream for the bruises;
Full finger gloves for protection,
consider wearing knee pads
and wear the bruises with pride...:D

Thanks, I will look for that cream and am considering knee pads. If nothing else a lot of people I know say it helps them feel more confident so they crash less because they aren't worried about crashing as much.
I do wear full finger gloves which has been a big improvement. When I first started I would finish with the weirdest scratches on my fingers.

I just remember to tuck and let things fall. I cannot afford to break something!!
