Hi all,

Been watching these forums for a while - they are great! Have found alot of answers to my various questions, but thought I should join and perhaps contribute when I can.

I've been cycling for about 6 months now, but have only recently started to take it more seriously. I used to use cycling as cross-training for my running, but since joining a club & doing some bunch rides I think it may turn around to be the other way!! :)

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself - hope to get to chat to a few of you in the coming weeks.

Cheers,

Didge :)

Sounds like we've got similar stories! Cycling was my cross-training for running, but I'm quickly becoming addicted and it looks like it's going to wind up being the other way around for me, too. Cycling beats my bones up less, and allows me to be outside working out for longer periods of time-- definite bonuses!

Exactly! I love running, but my joints really suffer because of it. But I went for a 50km tempo ride the other day and I felt as fresh as a daisy afterwards, and not even any DOMS over the following days.

Hehe. I was primarily a runner who happened to have a road bike collecting dust in her spare room, then I injured myself and had to retire the running shoes for a few months. Out came that bike ... Now I'm addicted to running and cycling equally, though I find cycling races a lot more fun than running ones!
