This is what I heard from the only other female rider on a recent club ride after I almost went down on my bike in front of all the guys, but saved it. "Way to do it like a girl!"
At the top of the climb where everybody regrouped, she said a guy would have fallen ... and then made everybody take care of him after he got hurt. :) (Then she said she was just kidding.)
By the way, why did I almost fall? Well, I learned that day when you are going downhill in a big gear and then turn to go up a climb and stand, be careful not to shift too many gears down all at once, or your chain might slip when you come down hard on one side of the bike ... with all your weight ... causing you to lose balance and your handlebars to get dangerously close to the ground ... causing you to go into a frenzy of quick left, right, left, right ... almost fall twice, and eventually save it. Only to find that when you came down, your chest apparently hit the top of the stem where your bike computer is, causing it to shift way to the left and magically power off.
So my lesson learned that day is, if you have to shift down while standing, just tap the shifter a little bit, one gear at a time. :) And if you start to fall and have to try to save it, DO IT LIKE A GIRL!!! :D
