I was pooped ALL day, but I needed to get more miles in, so I forced myself to go out. I packed my bike at lunchtime and prayed for cooperating weather after work.
It paid off!! 24 miles today @ 18.3 avg. OH yeah..and one flat...but that's not gonna spoil my ride today!

First time this year:
Boltinghouse Hill is the one in the middle. It is exactly .25 miles with 181ft rise (measured by Garmin, confirmed by MapMyRide). The first half averaged about 18%, followed by about 50 feet at 3% to 10%, and the last half averages 18% peaking at 23%.
Everytime a do this hill, I feel younger and stronger!

I rode alone this morning in beautiful Spring weather. 24 miles through lovely rolling countryside and farmland roads, some highway too. I felt good. :)

Great job BabyBlue and Mr. and Bleecker. Way to conquer the hill of death (yikes:eek:).
The rain held off so I hit the river trails downtown for a measly 15 miles. No land speed records set (no 18 avg. that's for sure- more like 11). :)
I'm training myself to go slowly so on my tour this summer I take my time and really enjoy the scenery. I usually just ride to get the miles in or to make it to the destination, but I'm trying to teach myself to savor the miles and look around me (hard for my focused little brain). Stop and smell the roses and all. :)

Are you doing Freewheel?? If so.. I'll PRAY for nicer weather for ya. The one time I went, we were dodging tornados in every host city camp spot. I threw in the towel after 4 nights of that. LOL <picture Susan shivering in her tent, while thunder and lightning crashed around over her head..wind and rain knocking about the tent.. Oh yes.. .FUN riding for sure...GREAT scenery, but the nights were harddddd! :P
Thx for the thumbs-up, gf! I don't usually go for speed records, but I just pulled a little "spry somethin-somethin" out of my helmet somehow tonight.

Yesterday was my bday, so I celebrated with a 3 hour SS MTB ride :D. I was having a blast about an hour into the ride when I had to turn around due to an impassable/flooded trail. Up the next hill and *POP* went my chain.
No problem, usually. I checked my CamelBack - chain tool - check. Spare links? Uh-oh! I called DH who played Knight-in-Shining-Armor for me. He drove out with some links, fixed my chain, and sent me on my way for the rest of my ride!
A great way to celebrate turning another year older...

Happy Birthday, Shefly. Today is my birthday!
Yesterday, I rode all around the island, and did my big hill. I was feeling kind of achy, but felt better once i warmed up. It was a really pretty day.
Today is also pretty, but I think I'm not riding. I've got too much celebratin' to do!
