I didn't do it last year, so they must be from 2007. All I remember is that it was very, very hot.
I had a nice ride last year.
I intended to ride in '07, I was there but had a flat that would not could not be fixed even by the mechanic.
And it was hot.
But the 'mater sammiches where mighty good.

Grazie. Lemme know the next time on a weekend that you're going to be at a bike shop in Fredneck and I'll meet you there.
I've become a big fan of the fish taco http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-eatdrink002.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

That'll work, too, thanks very much. If I remember correctly, you once told me that route wasn't terribly hilly...?

Here's the half century (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Gettysburg-Half-Century) from 2006
Here's the Covered Bridge 25 (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Covered-Bridge-25)
The way I remember the 25 there were hills but nothing too challenging. It's been almost three years so I might be a bit fuzzy on this.
It doesn't look like I actually labeled all the turns on these.

Huh, that covered bridge link brings up a blank page. I'll have to try it at home. Between your route and Zen's cue sheet, I should be set.

Bikely is sometimes buggy and sometimes requires multiple attempts to get a page loaded.
Here's a cue sheet (http://www.frederickpedalers.org/docs/cue_easy_covered_bridges.pdf) (no map)for a three covered bridges ride out of Lewistown.

ah well, I looked... Now I know where to find the 3rd covered bridge. Hadn't found it yet, had just happened across the other 2.
Anytime I'm biking around there and there's some road with Bridge in the name or a road that has a limited payload or height sign for a bridge, I take it and hope I find the 3rd.

If you want company, let me know when you're going to be doing it. I'll pop some caffeine, throw on some dirty clothes & come with.

Well, if you didn't have paddling plans for this Saturday, I'd say then. A ride of this sort I can easily squeeze in before the party I'm going to.
How about the 27th or 28th, the weekend after this one? I'll be popping my Endurabolic supplement instead of caffeine and wearing clean clothes, but I won't be showered.
Anyone else interested?

If I didn't have to be in Virginia for my niece's birthday party, I'd do the paddling another day & bike - but paddling gives me something else to do in Virginia, and I think I'll paint my Mom's house on Sunday (my brother in law pressure washed all the flaking paint off it a few weeks ago and never came back to put paint back on it?). 'cause houses with paint are good.
I could duck out of work early on Friday if you could do it in the afternoon.
Let me check when my aunt & cousin are coming in from Scotland - I have to hang out with them on weekends when they're here and I thought that was end of June.
I don't actually caffeinate before rides, makes me have to pee, which can get awkward. If I need energy, I've got caffeinated cliff shot blocks.

Nope, working this Friday. I haven't been able to get many weekdays off lately.
I pee as many times as I can before I get on the bike, and won't hesitate to stop if I find an appropriate place along the ride. I won't hesitate to stop for a lot of other reasons, too, as the other ladies here can tell you ;)
Cycling, paddling... house painting?? I'm beginning to get the feeling that you're way more energetic than I am.

Oh, I think you've noticed I'm more than happy to stop & take some pictures :)
And as for energetic, not really, I'm mostly kinda lazy.
Oh, not the 27th!
That's my habitat ride!
You want to ride somewhere this Saturday? I'm free any day but the 27/28 weekend:(

Actually, I realized I'll only be free on the 27th or the 28th. A friend's coming down from Philly to visit on one or the other of those two days.
I can ride this coming Saturday as long as I'm home between 3:00 - 4:00pm.

Well, how about Sunday, then? I was going to attempt a multi-sport day up at Fort Frederick on Sunday, but I could put that off until another time if that day works better for both of y'all to do the covered bridge thing.

Here, I put the route into MapMyRide: Civil War 25 (http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/md/thurmont/651124805074015920). Though I altered it slightly- I started it out going straight down through Thurmont to Moser Rd, instead of all the curving around through the subdivision, which cuts off a half mile. If you want, I can re-do it to add the subdivision bit.

Just in case - is the civil war 25 mile the same as the 25 mile covered bridge route?

Zen would have to confirm, but I believe the cue sheet she gave me was from the CWC.
