This recipe looks like one of those desperate measures when rolling into a town on bike, tired and at a thinly stocked grocery store or corner store in a rural area. Or don't have enough energy to bike yet another 10 kms. after an all day ride, for the perfect restaurant, etc.
http://www.chow.com/recipes/11033 At least the ingredients are light to bike around or carry in backpack when camping later on.
Yes, some of those ramen packet seasonings can be awful and oily.
Disclaimer: I haven't tried this recipe. I'm not that desperate but it's something to tuck away for the future when travelling.
I'll remember that one.
I wish peanut butter came in toothpaste-like tubes (like tomato paste). It would be pretty convenient when camping.

I use these for peanut butter because I only eat all natural pb. One of the big pb brands used to sell single serving pb tubs they still might and Jif has single serve pb cups.
Wow, I didn't know those existed! A whole new world is opening up to me, thanks!

Wow. That looks like Pad Thai to me. Or Pad Thai for bike travel. I'll remember that.

They work pretty well. you should stil place the filled tubes in a large plastic baggie. They can leak.
instead of the yucky instant ramen, have some MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat emergency food) handy. Some even have a built in heater for the food. Add water to the food and add water to the heater and it goes.
Okay so they a bit more expensive.
