I want to replace my shifters & brake levers. The shifters I currently have say SRAM SRT 4.0 and are 12 years old. My brake levers aren't branded. I would like to replace them with a shifter/brake combo to save room on my bars.

I have no idea what I'd need to buy, but I'd like them to be reasonably cheap. I have 3 rings on the front, 7 on the back, and I saw this set and I am wondering if it will work: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/SL308B13-Shimano+St-Ef50+Shiftbrake+Lever+Set.aspx

I have a Shimano STX rear derailler and a Shimano Avilio (sp?) in front.

If that one won't work, how do I determine what will?

Thanks! :)

Those should work for the shifters, and they're fairly nice levers. But what kind of brakes do you have? Those levers are meant to work with cantilever or caliper brakes, not linear pull (V-brakes) or disk brakes. If you have V-brakes, you'll need long-pull brake levers.

I have traditional cantilevers, so those should work. Great, thanks!
