Is it recommended that you move your foot/toes inside your shoes while you are riding? I know it's good to take breaks from sitting on your saddle but I've been experiencing some hot spots on the outer edges of the balls of my feet while riding (usually around mile 8-10).

I just changed out my pedals/cleats so I'm still tweaking the alignment but hot spots were a problem when I first started riding, too.

How often and what foot or toe movements do you do while riding?

Thanks!

Yes, it's good to move your toes. I try to move wiggle mine around when the need strikes I suppose. I suffer from hot foot problems more mid-summer than the rest of the year, so I really only fixate on it then. Honestly, though, I can't say that it really helps me all that much. My hot foot has resisted almost every easy solution. :(

What kind of foot discomfort do you experience? Did you try Superfeet? Which kind?

I try to remember to wiggle my toes around every time I take a drink out of my water bottle. I try to remember to take a little drink every 5 minutes when it's hot and every 15 when it's cool, so I figure that's good timing for my feet too. Sometimes I'll also unclip one foot at a time and shake my leg out and stretch my ankle around. But I still get hot spots and numb toes sometimes.

You beat me to this suggestion. 2+ on Superfeet. I was getting hot spots and cramping in my arches before I put them in my shoes. Now... no problem.

I also wiggle my toes and move my feet around in my shoes just to get some circulation going.
