This just popped into my email, probably because I lived in WI for a year 3 years back. Anyhooo, in light of recent unemployment threads, I thought some on the network here might be interested, one way or another. For instance interested in organizing something similar in your own neighborhood.

Have you been laid-off, downsized, or part-timed & now you’re looking for work?

The Stoughton Alliance for Retired Americans, the Stoughton Job Networking and Family Support Group and other groups have organized a second town meeting for workers who have lost their jobs, been part-timed or are underemployed. Workers and their partners living in Stoughton, southern Dane, northern Rock counties or other communities are invited to attend. This meeting will provide three workshops on Stretching Your Food Dollars, TimeBank of Dane Co., and Job Networking.

This free town meeting begins with a meal for families. The event is free and brings together workers and their partners in a friendly environment to learn about health care resources, job search resources, and stretching your budget in hard times. Registration is free and is limited to 100 people. Call early!
