Anyone here going to do the Daffodil Classic this Sunday, April 19th? The weather is going to be fabulous darling! :) Sunny with a high in the 70s!

New start . . . at the brand new Orting Middle School.

Joe and I will be there! :)

Dh and I did the 40 mile Buckley route last year. I thought it was a beautiful ride, but the motorists were scary enough that once was enough. I was run off the road once on a hill with no shoulder and we were both yelled at to "get back on the trail" several times.

That's awful lauraelmore! I have never had a bad incident, knock on wood, riding the Daffodil. I've done it 10 years in a row. This will be my 11th. My "spring ritual" :D I'll let you know how it goes this year! Looking forward to number eleven!

DH and I are going to be there. It will be the first time we've done this ride. I think we are going to try the 60 mile loop. Which route do you usually ride? Will we actually get to see any daffodils on the ride? (We rode the Tulip Pedal up in La Conner a couple weekends ago and did not see a single tulip!)

The 60 mile course is a lot nicer than the 40 mile course that laural did, in my opinion. And there are daffodils but you won't see any of them along your ride. Driving on hwy 410 through Sumner though you can see a field full plus Mt. Rainier as a backdrop!

Joe and I are still debating which route to do tomorrow. I want to do the 60 but Joe wants to do the 40. I've been riding and he has not. He doesn't think he's in good enough shape to ride the 60. I'll just be happy to be on my bike tomorrow.

I love the pics, Susan - thanks for sharing them out. We did end up doing the 60-mile loop - you're right, it's a really good route...I loved riding through the spots where there was a good view of Rainier. Of course, having gorgeous weather helped a lot!

The post-ride strawberry shortcake was a first for me. Did that ever hit the spot! I now think it should be mandatory that all rides have shortcake waiting at the end.

Glad to hear you had a great ride malaholic! I never get tired of seeing Mt. Rainier and yesterday it was out in all it's beauty! My husband claims that he rides the TWBC rides (so he says) just for the strawberry shortcake they feed you at the end of your ride. And it was especially delicious yesterday! And I also agree with you on your point that strawberry shortcake be served at the end of all rides! :D
