Oh yeah, I forgot to mention to remember that everyone has different reasons and needs for cycling. For example a racer has different needs than the mom who rides to spend time with her kids.

Please just keep these few things in mind when deciding what to get your SS.

Thanks!

Do you want us to respond here that we are interested, even if we responded in your first 'feeler' post? :) Probably easier for tracking purposes.

Count me in!

OK, I should work on my reading comprehension. At least I helped to bump the thread. Will PM you now.

Firstly, BIG THANKS to ASammy1, for organising the SS this month.

Theme for this round will be warm weather riding and/or fix-a-flat. Remember these are just guidelines.

Feel free to be creative!

I was just wondering this month for the SS, if it is an idea or not for us to mention a few things about ourselves???

OK, shoot me down in flames if it is a stupid idea and you all feel it takes away any of the surprise. :D

I only ride a mountain bike
Am not an overly girlie girl
Only like wearing baggy T shirts, 'cos I am not petite
Don't wear proper cycling gear
BUT simply love get anything kitsch, or little keepsakes from anybody the other side of the world, anything that is fun, or bike related
Oh yes, chocolate! :p

You should see the list I always leave Father Christmas.

Firstly, BIG THANKS to ASammy1, for organising the SS this month.

Thanks ClockworkOrange! I think your idea is a good one. I will go next.

I'm a roadie, but also a commuter and casual rider. When riding, I'm not a girly girl, but off the bike, I love fantastic jewlery (I'm a jewelry designer in my very limited spare time).

me too :)

I'm a roadie only...mtn bikes make my knees hurt...and I go for longer rides as well as commute to work/school. I'm pretty much a gearhead...and both enjoy being a technerd as well as going out backpacking and being completely disconnected :)

I'm a roadie... the thought of going over a curb scares the living day lights out of me. I'm newer to biking (started about 10 months ago) I have just started commuting to school (I'm a grad student). It depends upon the day, but I can be a girlie or I can be a tomboy. I love adventures....

I'm a roadie, a mountain biker, and a commuter- a jack of all trades and a master of none ;) Generally speaking, I'm a tomboy, but I clean up pretty well when the situation demands.

I'm a commuter and a "pootler", I love "pootling" along on country roads exploring but wouldn't call myself a roadie. I just take my time and enjoy being out taking in the scenery. Luckily I now live in a place with beautiful scenery and lots of it to take in. Aside from cycling, my main hobbies are knitting and cooking/baking and I would love to get back into a bit of quilting. Oh, and I'm a total chocoholic...

I'll join in. I'm a roadie too. A really slow one. :) Would like to get my hybrid (or a new bike!) geared up so I could take it to the store for quick runs, but that hasn't happened yet. I don't think anyone would call me a girly girl, but I'm not 100% tomboy (anymore, that is). I do love socks, I'll put that right out there. :)

About Tofu -I'm a roadie, recovering from a recent accident. My colors are red white & black, and I love all things vegan and cycling and awesome.

I'm mostly a commuter, an occasional slow roadie, and a timid mountain biker. And a vegan who loves socks (shoe size 9) and t-shirts (women's large) and dark chocolate.

Pootler, I like that term. Technically, I'm a pootler--on a road bike. I do like the long distance rides, but I'm just not all that fast. Not terribly girly either--could be if my life depended on it I s'pose, but it's not high on my list of priorities. So far I have been thrilled to pieces with everything sent to me by previous secret sisters.

Road biking would be my first love but I've been commuting more often on my single speed and find that to be the best way to start and end any workday.

I got my first mountain bike last season and I've been really getting into that too. Zipping through those trails makes me feel like a kid again .... especially after all the bruises and scrapes from my numerous falls. I guess I've commited myself to attempt a few races this summer.

Despite the fact that 2 of my 3 bikes are primarily pink I'm not a real girly-girl either. I have never received anything from a Secret Sister that I haven't used and enjoyed. The mystery of it all just makes it more fun.

I just love bicycling. I mainly ride a road bike, but I have a hybrid that I've just started using for errands to the market. Vegetarian, and a huge animal lover. I love bright colors, especially red. I love socks. I can be a girly-girl (I love dressing up in fancy clothes--sometimes), but am generally most comfortable in jeans. I'd love to be considered "edgy" and a little "boho", but I just don't think a 52 y/o suburban Atlanta woman can exactly qualify for that distinction. My other hobbies are silversmithing, jewelry-making, reading, travel.

Wellllll, I'll throw my hat in the ring.
Me: Roadie: fast, slow, and anything in between. I do fast group rides, and I enjoy slow jaunts in town for lunch, too. Commuter. Mtb'er, although I stink at it. Recently moved to CO2's for one bike, although I remain deathly afraid of the little bombs. Omnivore. Big honkin' flat feet (size 11....I shoulda been a barefoot water skier!).

I do love socks, I'll put that right out there. :)

Me too! Me too! Hate shoes, but I lust after quirky socks!

Love my road bike and train for events 100+ miles in length. In my obsessive/compulsive world everything cycling-related coordinates with my bike -- black and yellow. Mountain bike occasionally, but spend most of the ride worrying I'm going to injure myself and not be able to take the road bike out. Would much rather battle vehicles than have to parry with those pesky trees that refuse to stay out of my way!

Chocolate? Did someone say chocolate?! Our motto around here is, "Chocolate -- it's not just for breakfast anymore!"

Not a girly girl, love birds, spend what little free time I have in the garden or working in the flower beds.

Ok- I'll play. I hope my SS sees this and adds her info...

I tour, and am a stop and smell the roses kind of rider. I also do triathlons (but when I do those, I'm NOT the stop and smell the roses kind of rider). I like anything bike, but don't wear socks since I got my new Keen sandals (no socks and sandals at this age anyway). :) No matter what you send, I'll love it!!! :)

Alright, I'm late as usual, but here I come!
I ride a road bike and sometimes a time trial bike, mostly wear team clothing, and if I go off the curb is because I missed the corner and I'm falling... ;)
Outside of cycling I like dresses or business attire much more than jeans/casual - I'm not a big chocolate fan but some people think I'm having an affair with starbucks :D
And - I loved every SS gift I ever received!!!
:)

C'mon, I think there are a few more to come out of hiding yet.

It's good hearing about what others like regardless of whether they are involved in the 'Secret Sister surprise' or not.

Wonder who will be next? :D

Can I be silly and make a suggestion, if our SS lives in a different state or especially a different country, after reading a thread about How many of you shop with re-useable shopping bags? I think it might be a good idea to pop one of those into the parcel too, well, I'm going to anyway.

Clock............in a very boring mood talking about shopping bags! oivay

Yippeee, this is when it gets exciting, although I am disappointed at what the UK has to offer so far as miscellaneous things for cyclists.

Almost everything is made in the US, whether it be socks, gloves or drinks and sporty type jelly beans.

The UK is absolutely naff at times.

I so hope I do not disappoint my SS.

I have bought everything, so hope to despatch my parcel this week but am not too well at the moment.

Just now getting around to this:

Mostly a roadie, might get back on the mtb if I can find some time to fix it up. By weird coincidence, all of my bikes are some kind of yellow or orange . . . but I don't think my other gear has to be the same color.

Feel better!

Thanks for asking.

No, not much better, got exacerbated COPD, nevermind, main thing is my parcel is already to post tomorrow, first thing.

Think it takes about one week to reach the USA.
