I have not seen a thread started so hear goes...
Today was very windy and scattered showers, so I stayed inside and did about 45 minutes on the trainer. I was dripping sweat and out of breath so I know I had "a good ride". Then I put my bike away and thought, it was still not bad outside. So I went for a ten to fifteen minute run in the neighborhood.
This was my first time doing something like this. I really would have to work on the run because I have never liked running. Oh, well we will see, I will have to check my TRI books and see what they have to say for workouts.
Everyone here on the forums give me hope. Someday, I might do a triathalon.

Today was a rare beautiful sunny day in Maine and it was almost 60 degrees out. We havent had many days like this so I decided to go for a ride. It started out beautiful and warm but by about the 10th mile I noticed that the wind was really starting to hold me back. I should of turned around and headed for home but I wanted to finish my ride. It just went from bad to worse with me hitting every hole and every crack. Almost got hit a couple of times. Ended up with a really bad headache. But I made my 22 miles and I am positive that I need a new bike with maybe a little softer of a ride. I think I may have been spoiled last weekend by riding some new bikes. I need to make my choice and just go buy it. Its so hard choosing a new bike.

It was an AMAZING day. Nice weather, very light winds (only 10-12) and just a beautifully sunny day. :) Rode 20 then went to dinner with friends and had a margarita and tons of chips and salsa. A great day!

I ventured out into the neighborhood.....(its countryish) and this time I wasn't chased by any dogs...... I had to stare down a couple of them but I was ready to fight today....LOL
I made it about 11 miles today and actually stopped due to darkness setting in. My goal these days have been to work on some long gradual hills (the ones that make your legs scream) and I FINALLY made it up the one big hill on my 6 mile loop. It was so good to make it up the hill without having to either stop for a short break or um..... walk up it....
Ever since being diagnosed in August of 2005 with the most deadly and aggressive form of breast cancer...... I cherrish the small victories. It sure makes one really look at life in a whole new perspective.
I have been riding and swimming now for 9 weeks and in that time....
1. 25 pounds gone.....
2. I can now ride several miles and feel good doing it...LOL
3. I am getting a little more energy all the time.

PS There are several peacocks down the road from my house and today one was "sunning" himself and had his full feathers out. I wish my cell would have taken a better picture!!
It's great to read about your glorious recovery, TxRed!
Went for hill intervals today. It just occurred to me that I could use the roads of a local park - the highest point in the City of Vancouver at 128 meters or so - as a course for hill reps. In just over an hour I had the time to do five loops of the 3.5 km course including about 30% steep, stiff climbing.
Great weather. Felt fun! I gotta get in hill shape because in two months we are leaving for the Alps!!

I had the shortest ride of my life, on my road bike that is.
8.65 miles
It was a gorgeous day and I guess I was seduced by this. Normally, I should have been taking a rest day. The best part of my ride was climbing up Strawberry Hill Rd. Then, I decided to cut my short loop even shorter. My legs were absolutely dead, probably from my run on Monday.
I saw 2 or 3 groups of serious roadies, who looked like they were going for a lunch time training ride. All waved and were friendly; I think they recognize my bike, after a few weeks of going out at this time.
I am up to my ears in work for school; I have to go into the city today for a project. I will be riding Thursday, Friday, and we are leading a ride on Saturday. I *have* to rest today.
