Ok so i have the Marina iud. I have hd it for 5 years. I am getting it replaced in about a week and half. it has been good to me. No problems. But since my Dr was a little late in replacing it she put me on birth control. Well I have been on these Seasonique pills for two weeks. The past week I have been waking up exhausted! And nothing has helped. I already have a not very good funtioning adrenal gland. My blood pressure has gone down too. This morning it was 102 over 64. I have decided to stop this pill that i am piggy backing over my marina iud. Do you think it could cause this fatigue. The mairina has a low dose hormoan in it. But after 5 years they say it goes down to 50% function which is why the dr just gave me whatever was in her closet. I stopped taking the pill cause the estrogen caused me to many problems. So I have had night sweats, fatigue, feel insane at times. all in the past 2 weeks. It's crazy. But like I said i stopped taking it today. Anyone know how long it will take to get out of my system so I know that this is the reason i feel like this. and if not I need to go see my Dr. I know that.

Brandi, not sure about the fatigue, but they do clear quite fast- within a day, day and a half once you stop taking them. If you're that concerned, you should stop. And I really don't see how the Mirena was effective, say, last week, but magically stopped now and won't be somewhat effective for another week and a half. Yes, these things can loose effectiveness, but it's not like it turns off immediately. A week or two here or there will not make that much of a difference on something that's meant to last 5 yrs.

Brandi-I agree with mayanorange.

Stop taking the Seasonique- by the way, I had the same reactions with Yaz and I gained 15 lbs in 3 months!

If you are completely serious about avoiding a pregnancy at this time, use another method of contraception.

No one here can predict your fertility.

+1 Malkin.

But the IUD doesn't just work via the hormones included. Just the IUD provides some prevention. Use something else, though, just in case!
