Sorry, I had to say it, as I was expecting the worst.

Saw the dentist today - she's the best dentist I've had since I moved here from Pittsburgh in '87. Does not at all try to push you into expensive work, fast, explains things, and is gentle.

Anyway, I've been experiencing sensitivity in a tooth in which I have a big inlay. No apparent cavities but the inlay could be hiding one (blocks the xray from seeing). If the sensitivity doesn't go away in six weeks of brushing w/sensodyne & avoiding soda/acidic drinks, we'll go from there.

I also chipped a tooth (night grinder) but it's just a cosmetic thing, so she said not to worry. Prior dentists would have been telling me I needed a crown!

So, now I will brush good and floss after having some jelly beans & Sarris dark chocolate covered pretzels on Easter.

Yay!!!! I had a good check up this week too (my 15 year old fillings are in decent shape and can stay, despite some sensitivity in one). I'm petrified of anything involving a drill, so I'm very happy!!!

I'm a grinder too - and my dentist made me a night guard that has helped immensely. I've also been using Act fluoride rinse, which seems to help my teeth stay happy.

Finding a good dentist was a HUGE thing for me. I have a huge dental anxiety problem. But the dentist I have now is great! He and his staff are so good to me. They understand my anxiety issues and take great care of me! I have to pay for my dental work out of pocket because my dentist is not on my insurance plan. But it is worth it!

and remember gatorade drinkers (don't know that you are. Just giving a PSA) to brush immediately after training. That stuff is HORRID on the ol chompers!

I tried a mouth guard - couldn't bear it. I am trying to reduce my stress.

I use a sonicare toothbrush, floss every day, and rinse w/Act. Has worked good - no cavaties in years but unfortunately, I got my mother's teeth (not good). Therefore, I have to be extra vigilant, particularly as I get older.

This is me, exactly! I try to take extra good care of my teeth because I hate dentists and gum problems run in the family.
