Today is my last day at my job and my co-workers brought me a dozen white roses. They also said stick around for lunch. Hmmmm.... I don't even hang out with them not even sure I ever got a birthday card from them. It is a genuinely nice gesture and I almost teared up! I will miss this place but greener pastures await.

Just be your gracious self and try not to wonder about motives. Make your gratitude heartfelt.

I wasn't questioning the motives, I was genuinely touched that they thought so highly of me to do that. They also ordered pizza due to a joke amongst us all this week. This was a total surprise and I was very gracious, it made me feel like I wasn't just walking out. I loved my job but I needed a change. What a nice send off I will never forget!

How nice!!!!! It's a nice feeling to know you'll be missed. :)
What is your next career move?

I know exactly how you feel. At my last job (2 years ago) I got such a warm send off that it made me cry. A bunch of people chipped in and got lunch, gifts, and a $500 GC to Target (I moved across the country)! I still keep in touch with a few of them.

Feels good, huh? :D

Still going to be administrative quality control/audit type stuff just a different company. My best friend is actually employed by my new company and has loved it for two years so hopefully it is a good move. I had a lot of personality conflicts with the a management style of my former job that was making my life harder than it should be (as do most women who ever work for this manager). But I have pretty white roses to enjoy this week when I get home.

It really did, I figured it would be just another day and for them to get together and do that was a big shock. I didn't know they were going to do it!

No. I was sad about that part but overall pretty excited, we will see how tomorrow goes.

That makes it sweeter - the gesture suggests they "get it" and ... maybe wish they were brave enough to do the same?
