For todays ride I headed out for the beautiful countryside this morning. It was so pretty--sunny and warm with a slight breeze, lonely rolling hills, and dogwoods in bloom. :) During my ride I was chased by a Boston terrier and later, a dachshund. I think they enjoyed the challenge as much as I did. ;) I saw buffalo, cows, horses, and my favorite farm family. :)

The baby is all grown up and he wasn't as sure about my camera this time. Can't wait to head back there for my next ride and have a nice chat with them. :)

Great commute this morning. I waited for it to the hit the 50s, and almost chickened out due to the cold, but it felt so good I am so glad I did it. I don't know where this cold spell came from but its supposed to be gone. At least it will be in the 80s by going home time!
postscript- it was in the 90s going home! another great ride.

Part of my commute requires that I go through the parking lot of a small plaza to pick up the bike path that runs behind it. I enter with traffic from the light, and cruise down the travel lane, parallel to the store fronts, but on the far side of the perpendicular rows painted with parking spots.
Not once...but TWICE today...once in the morning, and again in the evening, I was nearly hit -- quite literally missed by inches -- by a clueless driver cutting across parking spots to get to the "travel lane" -- where I was -- without looking.
The parking lot's 500 yards or so are quite often the most hazardous portion of my ride.

It was in the mid 30s for my morning commute, with a brisk south headwind. Luckily, the wind stayed south all day, so my night commute was all tailwind! I'd of been POed if it switched directions.

Absolutely gorgeous weather for our Wednesday Night Ride tonight...
32miles.. 2hrs - not blazing fast... 2k elevation
I think I'm still recovering from a botched-up HIDA scan on Monday. NO ONE has trouble with these (usually)..but leave it to MY body not to like the nuclear stuff they put in my veins. I got sick with only 15 min left of the long-a@@ thing and didn't finish to find out if my gallbladder is functional or what. Been having upper gastric issues, gals.. I've had every test known to man in the past month. Nice. I'm not looking forward to re-doing the HIDA. I'm a few mos shy of 40 and already had a colonoscopy (fun-10yrs early-hooray), upper GI endoscopy, 24hr urine test, ultrasound of liver-gallbladder-pancreas, and a ct of my abdomen (got to drink some lovely berry flavored <what a joke> barium for that).
At least I know I don't have cancer. I DO however, have gastritis and antral erosions of the stomach..still waiting for the biopsy on that. Not sure how much the gallbladder is playing into my issues, but since both my mom and sister have had to have theirs out...can't ignore the HIDA. Yuck.
Don't know why I just shared all that... but hope it was entertaining at least. LOL But..maybe all that's why I didn't feel better on the ride. Just didn't feel real strong today.
Seven... I'm glad YOU were paying attention and didn't get hit/hurt today! Wow... don't you just wanna smack those drivers some time? ugh!

:( :( I hope they find the problem soon and that you won't have to have that test again. :( GI problems are no fun!
