I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. I'm injured AGAIN! It seems like I'm able to run for about a month and then I hurt myself. Now my left calf is strained. I was on the treadmill for less than 2 minutes and pulled up lame. I AM SO TIRED OF THIS. &&^%#$#%&*((%#) !!!!! I've been on one month, off four for the last year.
I'm stretching, and massaging, and using The Stick, and taking Motrin, and wearing a neoprene calf sleeve to work. Hopefully I can limit this to a week or two and not the 4-6 months that all of my previous injuries have been.
AAaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!

I'm sorry Roadie, that must be very discouraging. Not sure what advice to give, accept that I hope things get easier soon!
Out of curiosity have all of your injury runs been on treadmills?

Just want to say ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH with you.:( I can feel your pain...
Are you going to a running doc? If so, what does he/she say? I was having quad/knee injuries and finally saw a running specific orthopedic doctor who really helped me out. (ok- you didn't ask for advice, sorry).

Roadie Gal: I had the exact same troubles (still dealing), and I certainly feel your frustration. I finally went to see a physical therapist. They helped me tremendously with VERY deep tissue massage (aka, torture sessions), and helped me to work out a plan to get back on the road. I think it made a huge difference for me.
Keep up the stretching -- go deep and almost overdo it, and the stick (my new favorite friend ). Resting it is the hardest part. Stay off hills! That's where I re-injured myself every time.
Hang in there.

That's so frustrating! Have you thought about learning to race walk? Take care of yourself and I hope it heals quickly.

I used to be injured all the time... but then I went to a store where they are really specialised in runningshoes. First you have to run on a treadmill, so that they can analyze the way you run and according to that they give you the shoes you really need, in stead of the ones you really think are cool... :D
Maybe that's a solution?

I'm beginning to wonder if it's my shoes. I changed to Mizuno a couple of years ago... about when things started. But they're the only ones that don't give me blisters. I may have to go to Sacramento (100 miles from me) to get that kind of running evaluation.
