I haven’t been on the cycling forums for awhile, so it is time to catch up with everyone. And yes, I am still pedaling whenever I can too. My company moved all the second shift employees onto dayshift, so it has taken me several weeks to adjust. The fact that it was getting dark so early all but stopped my cycling for a while, but now with daylight savings time, I am getting in some weekday rides at least. My DH has had several health issues (nothing serious) that has kept him from cycling, but he is starting back slowly and building up his time again. Needless to say, we will not be going for the MS150 like we had hoped this year, but are targeting it again for next year. We recently took a moonlight ride at a Florida park - that was awesome!
I lost both my cat Indy (15 years old) and my favorite Aunt to kidney failure within the last couple of weeks, so it has been an emotional rollercoaster for me as well. To cope, I have been busy completing art in my spare time - I have attached some pics to share with you all. I am glad to be back into cycling, art and most of all, back on TE! Hope you are all healthy and coping well despite the mostly bad news these days. We can all get through these times together - take care.

Oh, it's good to see you again, wildhawk!!!! I'm sorry that you've had some sad losses, and that DH is dealing with some health issues- BUT you're back here (and you know we're as good as any therapist) so just come back here, yak at us, and keep on riding. :)

So glad you're back! But I'm sorry to hear you've had some sad times. Hang in there.

I love your artwork, particularly the owl. (I have developed quite a fascination for owls since having had a very interesting, maybe even spiritual, encounter with one several years ago.)

Life is like that sometimes but you seem to be handling things well. On the bright side, you still have a job:) and it's good to hear you're riding (more than I can say)

What is that squirrel doing? It looks like an advertisement

Glad to see you back, wildhawk! I remember when you were dealing with all the issues with your employer and glad you still have a job, despite the change in shifts. Your artwork is great! :)

Thanks for your kind words everyone - it is great to be back on TE. And I am looking forward to ramping up my riding times this coming week too. The park trail I ride on closes at dark, but I get home about 5:00 p.m. so it gives me time to ride and even sketch in the park a little. I put together a small art kit to fit in my panniers, so after I ride a bit, I take a break and sketch the local squirrels and ducks awhile. Very relaxing too. Then its off for home just after dark.

Zen: The squirrel drawing was created for an upcoming show at a local art society - the theme was “Think Green”, so hopefully he will inspire folks to not leave trash in our parks. So, I guess it is an advertisement of sorts.

Great to hear from you all - happy riding everyone!
