This is cool...particularly since many of the Forbes "Top 10 Travel" lists are usually sponsored advertisements in disguise...clearly no profit motive on this one.

Cool slide show. I was looking for the Silver Comet Trail, but it wasn't one of them. It's a 100 mile trail that runs from Smyrna, GA to Anniston, AL along an old railroad. http://www.silvercometga.com/

Although it might be considered too busy as there are tons of cyclists out there all the time as well as roller bladers, runners and walkers. It's also a favorite for local time trials as it is relatively flat.

Yeah!:D My hometown Katy is on there! Headed out today to do 40 miles--Weldon to Dutzow--lunch at the winery and back.

If you need a vacation spot, go to bikekatytrail.com. They have an active forum and interactive mileage chart. It's one of the few trails with it's own trail guide written by Brett Dufur. There is a connection to KC in the future.

There are organized tours or you can take the Amtrak from St. Louis out west and ride back. Lot's of fun B&b's along the way. Mentioned in Joe Kurmaskie's book Momentum.

Those are some fun looking trails.

I'm surprised they didn't have the Flume Trail in Lake Tahoe. That's usually included in the "best trails" lists.
