After seeing Jobob's new Lynskey, I almost can't resist this titanium bike (http://stlouis.craigslist.org/bik/1087915446.html). Note the price!

I'm going to be good...I'm going to be good....I need a new lawn mower....I love my Surley....

Anyway, someone snap it up. PLEASE!

That is a sweet bike. My brother has one that he got on Craig's or Ebay, and he loves it. Smooth as silk.

Lawnmower...hmph! As a landscape architect, I'd say get rid of your lawn! But that would cost considerably more than the bike. You could get a nice and new rotary mower where you are the engine for $150max (alot less for used or fewer features). That way, you get exercise and your lawn mown and nice grass smell instead of nasty gasoline exhaust smell.

The guy selling it is evil. He sent me the measurements and it would fit. Also that he understands about "I need to pass for now", but...and then went into how it wouldn't hurt to test ride it and the beauty of titanium. My hands are over my hears and I'm singing really loud so I can't hear.

resistance is futile.

It's a trap! I fell for that, too. And then I promptly found myself handing over the money to adopt Lucy the Litespeed. (The titanium...could not resist the titanium loveliness.)

Steel may be real, but ti is oh, so, fly!

Once you go ti....you never go back!

There's a Merlin in my shop for repair right now. It has designs etched in the titanium. Awesome!

Mel has a Merlin (is it a Cyrene?) and I love the engraved designs on the frame. Very striking.

I don't mean to sound presumptive, but if you can manage to swing it somehow, go for it. It's a great bike at a great price.

(And if you test ride it and it doesn't fit right or sing to you, then you can pass it up with a clear conscience. )

I am going to go see it. I decided that if it fit, it may be a once in a lifetime chance and if it doesn't, then it didn't hurt to try.

I'm so excited to hear how it goes! Good luck and fill us all in. I'm so jealous :p

Yes, it's a Cyrene. Too bad I don't get to work on it. But it's been on the rack for the last 2 days.

I bought it. Well, I put money on it to hold it and I'm going to pick it up Thursday. It rides like a dream and I am in love with the whole campy group! It's also in beautiful shape. I kept telling him "Just one more little ride." I now have to rearrange furniture so that it has a place in my bedroom.:D

Yes, I do appreciate the support. Now, as a show of thanks, I'm going to have a TE mowing party at my house every two weeks from May until October. It's only two acres, so it shouldn't take too long to knock out. I'll provide snacks, wine and imported beer.

Seriously, I do appreciate all of the help. I'm the only one in my area that rides a bike, so I have to come here for information. Especially from a female perspective. I thought this bike was a rare find, but I did need confirmation to push me over the edge.
