Just wanted to share my excitement as I finally got my new bike this weekend. Its not extremely high end, but it was within my budget and most important it is the correct frame size. Isn't she beautiful?! :p

GORGEOUS! :D I love that color.

Now, all that snow just needs to melt off of Wolf Creek Pass!!

P.S. Is that a compact double? Did you get climbing lunch plate like I have for the canyons??

Ha ha ha. Well I will definitely keep Wolf Creek as a goal. I am much heavier and more out of shape than the last time I attempted it. But even though I was the slowest, I still enjoyed the ride. Such a beautiful area.

Yes, it is indeed a compact double. They changed it to a 12x27 (whatever that means :p ) and said it will give me one more gear to click to when I'm climbing.

It looks tiny, is it? I love the color! My bike also has a 12-27 but I need something bigger. Once the chainrings are replaced I think I will go mountain gearing like 11-34 or something silly. I am such a hill slug. :p

What a beauty! (love the blue!!)

If you have any real hills over there (sorry , didn't check your location first) ask your LBS if they could switch the 27 for a 28 (12-28).. I just had my highest one switched out for a 28 and it does help!

If you have any real hills over there...

Please, tell me we've all been imagining the Wasatch Range and the Oquirrhs (and the Utah state legislature) all this time!!! A collective halucination!

Congrats on the beautiful new bike! FYI, the Tour de Park City century route this year goes to Wolf Creek Pass instead of Bald Mountain pass. I'm looking forward to those wider shoulders (and fewer RVs, trucks, fifth wheels, and boats)!

That is a pretty bike! Just the shade of blue that was on the old Rockshox SID fork on my mountain bike. I loved it and was sad when it gave up the ghost and I had to replace it with a silver one. Blue rules! :D Enjoy!

I think a climbing lunch plate means a big big cog in the rear cluster (my bike guy likes to say "with these gears, you'll be able to climb a tree") Am I right? tokie

Orbea is a very very nice bike and very well respected builder out of Spain. Many many happy miles.

At least it's a pretty collective hallucination (most of the time). Except for during the legislative session. (oh! did I just say that?? :p)

I'm not ashamed: my climbing lunch plate is a 29 (I have a compact double). I built my own rear cluster (12-29). The toughest part was figuring out which spacers to put where.

Congrats on the new ride! When I saw the word "Orbea" pop up on my pc screen, it made me gasp "Ooo, that's my bike!". Well, I don't have her yet--she's only picked out in my mind for now (I recently broke a bone in my foot and can't ride atm:(*sigh*). I really like the geo of the Orbeas. I hope you have many happy and safe miles together:). If you could ride a couple of those for me in the meantime, I'd much appreciate it;).
