I just finished building up my winter project! The final touch was the red Selle Italia SLR saddle! (Actually, I'm still waiting for my red KCNC skewers but it's done enough to unveil now!)

This is now my backup bike! I like having a backup bike...I can put her on the trainer...go out in less that ideal conditions..whatever.

This is the 2008 BH Connect...the frame used by Liz Hatch and the Vanderkitten womens racing team, the team that won the USA Crits Team championship this last year. I build it up with Dura-Ace 7800 groupset...Easton EC90 SLX bars...Easton EA90 stem...some random FSA headset...Fulcrum Race 5 wheels (ugh, super heavy)...USE Alien seatpost...Selle Italia SLR saddle...Look Keo Carbon pedals...KCNC seatpost clamp...BTP bottle cages...and soon KCNC skewers.

The super heavy wheels puts her at 16.9lbs. But that's ok...this wasn't a weight weenie build. Her stable mate is the weight weenie!

Bike rides great...very responsive...comfortable...and stiff enough for my measly wattage! lol And yes, I ride a very small frame because I'm a midget...that's why the bike looks funny...small frames look funny.

I've only heard of them very recently!

I was looking for a backup road bike to build up...and I came across a BH Connect frame at a pretty good price. Did some searching...found out Liz Hatch and the Vanderkitten womens racing team won the USA Crit championship on BH Connects...found out AG2R-La Mondiale mens UCI ProTour team uses BH bikes...and then I read some reviews, one glowing, one mostly positive.

Read about the company's 100 year history...and how they've only been in the states for a couple years now thanks to Chris Cocalis, founder of Titus Cycles.

I was sold. So I pulled the trigger!

Wow- that's one sweeeeeet looking bike. Too bad it's not the main ride, as it sure does take my breath away just looking at it!:D
I'd hate to think of that beauty going out in less than ideal condition or sitting on a trainer. Woot woo!!!!

Congrats on building up such a beauty of a ride!!!! You did a fantastic job.

it is technically my backup bike...but i guess really i have a 1A and 1B bike now cuz it's a quality bike! probably around $5K at full retail...but i call it my backup bike because it was a very affordable build and because my 1A ride is still my pride and joy.

btw...my 1A is also undergoing a MINOR face lift for the new season! pics to come within 2 weeks!

Well done! My Madone is red and black. I just put the red tires on it, but hadn't thought about the handle bars

Yeah, well, well, Tina Pic won her last crit on my bike! That is super hotness though for sure. I don't even like red but I make exceptions for things that look hot in it, like my pickup. Nice touch with the red Fulcrum rims for sure, anyone could have put red tires on, but you went all the way.

I totally considered BH, I think you made a fine choice. Had the Blue not fallen in my lap I'd have pursued the BH. The Vanderkitten folks are great. I met I think maybe a manager at Interbike during the crit and he was so sweet. Way to go, always fun to ride the same rig as people you admire.

Awesome Bike! I just got the same frame! I haven't taken photos yet because I'm trying to find something that will clean up my white brake hoods :D

Enjoy the ride!
