i have!! this taxi totally cut me off one day and i screamed at him. Yes i know....crazy New yorker....anyway.. he chased me for 3 blocks. After jumping a few curbs, i managed to turn the wrong way down a 1 way street. i finally lost him. Let me tell you, that was the biggest rush ever. i have since learned to keep my mouth shut!
good luck out there!

Just got back from Ride The Rockies, a seven-day, 400-plus mile ride through the Colorado mountains. A couple of days in, the cops arrested a woman in a huge Ford pickup who'd been swerving and screaming at the cyclists for miles. After a couple of 911 calls from the riders, cops pulled her over -- a 66-year-old woman who was irate at all the non-tax-paying users of her state's roadways. Cops couldn't just ticket and release her because they were afraid she'd go and mow down as many riders as she could -- she was THAT angry. She also had a loaded pistol with her....
Good times out here in CO.

we don't pay taxes? where? when? how did I miss that on the form? Yep, there it is:
Item 1033c estimated income $XX,XXX.00
Item 1037a estimated taxes $XX,XXX.00
Item 1038b do you bike? if no pay ammount in Item 1037a, if yes, pay no taxes.

i can't even believe that! why are people so uptight about cyclists?? To think she was willing to potentially hurt someone. People are sometimes very misinformed and close-minded. If more people actually commuted via bicycle we would reduce the cost road maintenence.
Trek when you find that IRS form with the box that I can check to skip taxes because I ride, Please Please Please send it to me. To think I am healthy, happy, and now rich because of my sweet trek wsd 2100.
How can a person even get the idea that a cyclist doesn't pay taxes? Where on earth could that come from? I don't get it.
Why didn't the cops ticket her? They can absolutely issue tickets for unsafe driving. If they didn't let her go, what did they do to her? Can't really lock her up for that infraction.
Loaded pistol. Nice. I live in the south so I see that "pick up truck with gun rack" quite regularly. Don't understand that either. Scary.

the woman was pretty much certifiable. Sounded like she thought we were a bunch of foreigners out to tear up her country. And the cops DID ticket her, but ALSO arrested her because she was a danger to the riders and probably to herself. What she didn't know -- not only do we all pay taxes, we also paid a heavy registration fee for the ride, much of which was given to non-profits in each of the towns we cycled through.
out here, I've been blasted and clipped by semis, screamed and sworn at, had beer cans chucked at me by half-drunk yahoos on their way down from target practice on Left-Hand Canyon .... you name it. And we're considered one of the more bike-friendly states. Go figure.
