Anyone have one of these? I don't know why but lately it beeps PAUSE and won't display speed or distance--just heart rate and cadence. I've checked the sensors to make sure it's lined up. It will work for about 3 seconds and then start beeping again.
I chatted with Polar and they want me to send in the whole kit and caboodle. I have to ask for an estimate for repairs. I've only had it for 1 1/2 years.

If you use it for every ride, you could easily need new batteries in the unit, the transmitter, etc.

I thought about that but would it NOT show ANY info if the battery was low?

No, my 720 just started to act weirdly.

And my RS2000 does weird things too, when the battery needs to be replaced. Like I'll look down and see that my HR is 250 bpm or 30 bpm. As my max is 170 and my resting HR is 58, and I do not believe I am dead or hyperventilating, I assume the watch is screwy and needs new batteries. That takes care of it.

Ok, I'll try that! I would rather replace a battery than send it in for repair.

My CS200 "pauses" when I stop moving. Like when I'm at a stop sign. It didn't do that tricky thing before I installed the speed sensor (had the rest installed for a few weeks before I installed the speed sensor). It does continue to display cadence (at zero) and heartrate while it is "paused"....
Maybe try removing the speed sensor and see if the problem stops...You might just need another sensor or maybe your wheel magnet is getting a little out of whack and the sensor can't pick it up sometimes?

Dumb speed sensor it toast. I replaced the battery in the computer and it kept beeping and pausing--no display of distance/speed. Apparently *I* can't replace the battery in the sensor so I'll have to send it all back to Polar. That will take at least 2 weeks repair time PLUS there's no warranty. I've only had the computer for 1 1/2 years. Gah!
I used to have a Cateye and I am really thinking hard about going with another computer.

Well, you can just use the computer w/o the speed sensor while you shop for a new speed sensor on ebay.
$40 new, w/ free shipping (http://cgi.ebay.com/Polar-Speed-Sensor-and-Bike-Mount_W0QQitemZ120386738255QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCycling_Parts_Accessories?hash=item120386738255&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A4|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A200)
Maybe worth a shot?
Thats definitely less than getting a whole new computer...

Thanks for being helpful, Fidlfreek. I ended up sending everything in just in to Polar in case it's not the speed sensor. I've pretty much talked hubby into buying me a Garmin 705 for our anniversary so I'll use the Polar as my back-up computer. :)
