March 4 rides

I felt like doing an impromptu ride today so I loaded up and headed out. Despite being chilly and overcast, I felt happy to just get away from the world for awhile. During my ride I passed by a lake and lo and behold I saw not 1 but 2 bald eagles. :cool: One had just swooped down and caught a big fish and was toying with it on the shore. I pulled over and grabbed my phone but couldn't get a close enough picture of it. Note to self: carry a real camera. :rolleyes: Then he flew off into the field. :cool: I continued on and decided I *needed* more calories to fight the headwind so I ducked into my favorite eating hole and enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee and a light breakfast. After visiting with the waitress for awhile I donned my gear and headed on. I rode with a tailwind and good music and the miles just disappeared. I can't wait for warmer weather and longer days. :)

I got a ride in! I trudged to the gym after work for weights class and as I cursed the lack of parking (I hate my gym, and yes, hate IS a strong word..) I thought "duh! It's sunny!" (We've had lots of rain recently) I raced home and took off on the bike! I stayed close to home, but was able to get 7 miles in before the dark shut me down. Whee!
