Hi, quite new to all this cycling lark. I bought some dianese knee and shin pads from ebay because after stacking it big time at the weekend i have a monster bruise on my knee. However i've never owned kneepads before and have no idea how they're supposed to feel. Can anyone describe what i should be experiencing. They seem ok length wise and the straps tighten them up lovely but the top elastic bit above the knee cup slips down as soon as i move my knee, is this supposed to happen? THe knee cup stays in place so that's fine.

Bike's in the shop getting a bearing tune up so i'm not able to take them out and try them to see what they feel like.

Any ideas? Recommendations? Whatever?

well, what kind did you get? If they are kind of like volley ball pads, you might have the wrong size if they are slipping. I myself prefer a knee/shin combo.

I got a knee and shin combo and after going out in them i've realised that they are TOO big. So i think i'm going to find some that do fit. Any recommendations?

I use the Rally Roach FR and love it, great protection, never slides, and doesn't feel uncomfortable.
Before I bought it I read a the reviews on www.mtbr.com and these one was the most popular one.
Good luck.

I have yet to find a knee-shin combo that fits. Youth sizes are too small, adult smalls are too big. I did get some Kyle Strait knee guards that have worked well for me. Plenty of protection around the knee and upper shin. They are very comfortable to wear doing cross country. They have definitely saved my knees several times. Hips...that's a different story!

They look serious business, i think they're what my other half has - decided to go with either them or the Veggie Wraps, need to see if i can try them on somewhere first though so i don't end up buying the wrong size again.
