Hi there, I am registered to bike the Trek Across Maine which is a 180 mile, 3 day trek from Sunday River to Belfast Maine with proceeds going to the American Lung Association. I have NEVER done anything like this and actuall my reasoning for signing up was that on January 1st 09' I decided to quit smoking and lose 35pounds....well the only way I could see that I would stick to that is if I signed up for something to devote my time and hard trainging to, so here I am, training for a 180 bike ride!
I have lost 20 pounds so far and started doing yoga everyday with some pretty intense training to get in shape!
Now I must devote my time to raising enough money for the Trek. We have to raise at east $500 but I would like to double that since I smoked for 18 years and FINALLY see how disgusting it was and I got my husband and my best friend to quit by promising them "if you give up the cigarettes, I will bike 180 miles for you!", they couldn't say no.
If you would like to view my blog, here is the link and thank you all for reading! Oh and if anyone has any training tips on how I can prepare for 60 miles a day, please help me

thank you!!!

I for one, look forward to hearing more about your adventures! welcome to TE.
I think 3 days - 180 miles is totally doable. Just remember to schedule hard training rides back to back.
