Heh - I was just admiring the paint job on that same bike in a bike shop a couple of weeks ago. It's a beauty!
Congratulations!!

Congrats on the new ride! She's beautiful:cool:. One of our lbs just started carrying Specialized. There is a Ruby Expert 09 demo bike somewhat close to my size that's just waiting for me to ride... when it stops snowing like crazy here:rolleyes:.

Mmmmmm I really like the paint job! I have the Ruby expert '07 and I love her! You will have many happy miles together guaranteed.
That is how I got my ruby too - she was just waiting, at a great price for someone to say "Gotta have her" that someone was me :D

wowza! I have a special thing for Specialized bikes. I haven't ridden any of the new ones, but my first mountain bike was a 1985 Stumpjumper Sport. It's a classic, from the early days.

I also think you had no other choice. If you had not adopted it immediately, it would have followed you home. The TE board will probably make you feel comfortable with your choice, also. Now, on the other hand, if Suzie Orman has a message board, you may not want to ask there. Those of us at TE have a little more insight and we know that skipping a few meals for a new bike is a no brainer.
Congrats, it's a beauty!

thank you all for your lovely feedback on my new baby-- I was going to wait to buy an upgrade, but sometimes things ARE just waiting for you, huh?
i did the american diabetes association ride yesterday (70m) - didn;t realize it would be my last ride ever on my C'dale Synapse which I traded in.. bit sad about that, seeing as that bike ignited my passion for cycling-- was tempted to hold onto it as a 2nd back-up bike-- but I know there is another woman out there who couldn't afford to buy a new bike who I know will love the bike too and it will enable her to really get into cycling- better than the bike living in my cycling cupboard as a 'spare' and it rarely seeing the light of day!!
and I got the night off work tonight, so I can go out and ride her in the morning :-)
thanks for sharing in my pleasure at my new bike!!

Wishing you much luck and enjoyable, safe riding miles. What a beautiful paint job. I have the 07 Ruby Pro and absolutely love riding her.
I had sold my Dolce right after getting my Ruby and am a little sad to this day that I did. It would have made a great winter & trainer bike. It is also the bike I rode my first century on. However, no sense dwelling.
