Waiting for running hubby to finish his lap at the 24 hours in the old pueblo. Refreshing the results page every few minutes. Worrying, wondering why he's taking so long... Did he have a mechanical? Is he just cold? Is he cramping again??
MAN I hate not being able to be there to support him.... Sigh... But someone had to man the shop today..
As much as I love the digital age, it's also frustrating when your waiting.. and waiting...
sigh... so here I am, catching up on old threads I didnt have time to read earlier. waiting.. worrying.. and waiting..

BTW- if you feel like checking in. Go to epicrides.com and click on the kona 24 hours race, and then the real time tracker. They are 5 person coed 150+ and are racing as the giant fat kidd express (dont ask). He is anthony..

Hey RM, at least you know there's someone else awake down this way :)
I thought his teammates might be texting you updates?? If not, i'm sure that he'll make it through his lap and everything will be coolio! Endurance events are like that hey...
I can assure you that my teammates at the 12hr event in Dec must have wondered what took me so long to get back to the start on my second lap :o. My sunnies(w clear lenses) fogged up & since I can't see without them, had to stand on the side of the trail & wait for them to de-fog...That was at i think 11pm..

Hey C!! He made it in in 1:49. Not his best, have to wonder if he had a mechanical. Then again his training lately has been sparse.
He doesnt ride again until around 6:30 am, so he sould be able to get some good rest.
I do like having the detailed results online so quickly tho!
Ok, off to bed now... nighty nite. (well not for you down there). BTW- I need to send you a package! Been thinking about that a lot lately!

Hi Denise
There is always something to worry about...........
My goodness, I just checked out previous races, what an amazing place to be riding, I watched a YouTube clip, the atmosphere looks terrific.
Sending lots of good luck to The Giant Fat Kidd Express especially to your Anthony.

We went through this at Louisville Ironman...one friend just didn't cross...fortunately, it was a "posting disfunction" with the equipment...
Glad he made it!

yeah mr. silver I remember that a certain group of people on a certain forum were going nuts trying to get updates on me in my first IM.
We are so spoiled by our technology. sheesh. ;)
I finally went to bed at 1:47, so I feel like I was supporting them in some way. They are doing good and have worked their way down into the top 20 out of 39 teams. not too shabby. Hubby is on the course again now. He lucked out this time by not needing to do a lap in the o'dark thirty hours..
Here's a 24 hour race where the sun never sets

15th overall. Running hubby's phone is dead, so I can't even call to say congrats!
So proud of RH for getting out there and racing. Historically it's been him supporting me. So it's nice to see him out there too.
