Here are some files you can use in your designs:
TE logos in Adobe Illustrator CS2 format (http://www.teamestrogen.com/template-resources/images/te2/jerseyContestArtwork2009.ai). Use this file to directly work with the vector art in a program like Illustrator.
TE logos in Adobe Illustrator 8 format (http://www.teamestrogen.com/template-resources/images/te2/jerseyContestArtwork2009_ai8.ai). Use this file to directly work with the vector art in a program like Illustrator.
TE logos in Adobe PDF format (http://www.teamestrogen.com/template-resources/images/te2/jerseyContestArtwork2009.pdf). Use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program to view this file.
If you don't have a vector editing tool like Illustrator, here is a trick you can use with PDF files to get high quality bitmaps at any size. In Acrobat Reader, zoom in or out to get the image to the size you want, then do a SCREEN CAPTURE (hit the PrtScn button on a PC keyboard), then paste into your favorite bitmap editing tool (Photoshop, or even Paint, which is part of Windows).
Here is a template (http://www.louisgarneaucustom.com/media/pdf/custom/templates/E20113.pdf) you can use for laying out your design.

Someone should be able to save the CS2 AI files to a previous version of Illustrator. I couldn't access the files with the provided link though. Is it just me or does the link not work? I just get a blank screen. :(
TE logos in Adobe Illustrator 8 format (http://www.teamestrogen.com/template-resources/images/te2/jerseyContestArtwork2009_ai8.ai). This is a 2MB file so it might take awhile to download. Also, I got a warning about spot colors and transparency when saving it in the older format, so hopefully everything comes through ok...

The template file crashed my illustrator everytime I tried to open it, so I had to workaround.
I reused the water theme from my tri logo.
hopefully I'm allowed to post more than one.....
Here's a very clean and simple design for starters. I'll work on something a bit softer next.
(btw ttyaylor - I've always been able to open PDF files and edit them or take elements from them in Illustrator. I'm using plain old CS)

Let me know if you want it taken down Biciclista. The credit goes to you, it's a beautiful painting! :D
The thread for comments is here-

but this one has devolved so far it probably doesn't matter.
I'm sure there are more to come and voting will be done in an anonymous poll.
For CC - Her round the world jersey concept!

The horse is already out of the barn, but nonetheless...
Can we try to keep this thread for submissions only? It will make reviewing ideas much easier for Jeff & I. Please make your comments on the other thread.
Thanks!!

OK, sorry. Perhaps as an admin you could move all the non-submission stuff to the other thread.

Mine is very simple and looks like a "team" jersey but I thought I'd throw my hat in anyway. I wanted to make it loud yet subdued and make the TE logo prominent. There are endless color combinations...
I just realized ttaylor has something similar, I didn't mean to bite your style! I didn't even realize! Sorry!

This is for those that wanted something brighter and more like a traditional jersey. It could come in about any color you can think of, but i chose this color for visibility. Of course the back pocket could also be the same color as the jersey, but I was thinking of trying to slim out love-handles by using the black.
The swirls by the wheels are to imply motion & soften up the design.

And this is a little more girly. Uploaded larger so you could read the text on the petals. If you have ideas of what to put on the petals instead let me know!

Now back to using PhotoShop for what it was intended for in my day-to-day routine, work. :D This has been fun!

OK this contest actually motivated me to get out on long term lurker mode (also a bit too much free time on my hands). Guess I'd better start making some contributions in discussions from now on.
I do like Primal Wear jerseys designs... so that's a bit of the flavour. I have also added gradient background colours but they can be solid as well, plus the background colours can be changed (just that I know pink or blue will normally appeal to most).
Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

Here are mine :)
I can't figure out how to post them in the thread :(
I really liked the idea of having the globe in the background :) Or the globe with wheels filling in the area of the land parts :)
My apologies for my technical ignorance :p

Here's my best shot a brighter alternative as you suggested. Tried lightening it up by turning the back pocket white too. It's hard to get a feel for how the design would look with the texture of the fabric, but I think that the white might actually work here.

I was thinking about the bicycle and it's early contribution to women's liberation. I wanted to try to illustrate that idea in a way, and make something that looks a bit like a vintage bicycle poster.
This is what I've been doing instead of cleaning today. And yesterday. I don't have illustrator at home. I drew the image and then cleaned it up and colored it in in Photoshop.
I still need to create the jersey back and sides.
The idea is that the banner would be high enough on the shirt to come across the upper chest. And, I'm hoping that the cyclists are low enough to be mostly across the abdomen.
Feedback is welcome. Even if this doesn't win... it's good to have a project to work on just for fun sometimes.

I tweaked a few things on my jersey. It could still use some work I know. But, it's the best that I have at the moment.
I was thinking... Would it be possible to add some illumnite to the lighter paint? It seems like a jersey could maintain some color and have something with reflective qualities added to it...
Here's a link to the image in photobucket (http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm203/Sieversma_Photo/Design%20Work/WholeJerseycopy.jpg)in case you'd like to see a larger version.
Edited to say that the image that the link takes you to seems to have odd color. The colors in this posted image are correct. The thumbnail in photobucket is even accurate, but the enlarged image is not.

I read some comments about visibility being important to people so I made the back panel yellow. I like simple, graphic look, so that's what I did.

OK, as you can see I have very limited photoshop skills, but I think you might get the idea. I'm mostly interested in visibility and would like as many reflective bits as possible.
The sleeves (and in my fanstasy the matching arm warmers) are striped high vis green and reflective grey/white. (I ride a LOT in the mornings when the sun is coming up and am just SCARED of being unnoticed)
Both side panels have the "team estrogen.com" on them, preferably with reflecty stuff. I can't manage that in the photoshop.
The back pocket has the snail logo, striped with reflecty, of course
This graphic is my best attempt at Chicory and Queen Anne's Lace which are the pretty weeds that grow on the side of the roads I ride along.
And color-wise, I just picked colors that I'd like to wear (since the whole thing can't be high vis striped with reflective tape.)

Oh, and the queen anne's lace jersey has "road sister" written on the back pocket. I know that excludes the trail sisters out there. Sorry!

this last one is an attempt at swallows on the back, feather on front. Attempt is the key word. You can tell I've gotten lazy and tired.

Sorry to clutter this thread up but I'm having too much fun playing. There's a lot one can do with this design I think. In my fantasy world all the blue/grey blossoms are reflective... and I think my fantasy arm warmers will be black and reflecty striped.8683 the black snail logo could also go on the sleeves.
(The tree is a lot of fun. I made one with a swing hanging from the branches, one is an apple tree, another has a robin's best in front and a sort of robinlookingbird on the back. Too much fun!... or too much time on my hands)

My last entry. DH was working late and DD was put to bed. I thought this would be better than snacking in front of the TV.
throwing my hat in the ring another time (colors completely changeable of course)
The quote across the back reads "Bicycling has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world" - Susan B. Anthony

if other people think it's funny. Well, maybe it's more of an amusing thought than an all out chuckle joke. It's from an illustration that I did last year for a ride that my group holds annually.
I ride on pink chip surfaced road. I tried to duplicate it, I thought it'd be more visually interesting than a black top road.
And I recycled the rider from my other entry.

In my previous post, I'd like the team estrogen logo on the rear pocket to be white. My error.
Now, for this post... I wanted to get this idea out before I leave town.
I know that some other people have posted 'world wide' concepts. I like them. I thought that since the bicycle has such an important place in every culture, it'd be nice to represent it. I picked three languages from around the world and did my best to include an illustration with it. I thought about doing more, but three fits nicely on the front.
Hopefully the idea is readable. The sleeves have a bicycle print on them.
If people like the idea of reflective material, like others have mentioned, the gray can be reflective. I have a bright caution yellow jersey that I like to wear, that's why I picked the color for this jersey.
And the side panels, I would've put "We're all members of Team Estrogen".com, but "We all belong to" fits the space better, I think.

OK, I decided to add this final one. Same as my others (the lightest color is reflective) except I took colors from the logos. The weed in front is supposed to be a thistle, the back has queen anne's lace. (If we had more time I'd probably try my hand at milkweed, good thing it's quittin' time)
