I have seem to misplaced my sunglasses....

Anyway, I was thinking about beginning a search for cycling sunglasses instead of the conventional kind but have a hard time because my Asian face is a bit flatter than those of you Caucasians and I don't like my eyelashes hitting the lenses :p I also do not like too much pressure on the sides of my head, near my ears. I have kind of a big head too ;)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :D I just don't know where to start...

Thank you in advance!

Oakley has a whole line of glasses with "Asian fit" - http://oakley.com/women/category/1047

I spent the better part of an afternoon trying on sunglasses at REI when I was shopping for something new for my Asian face. There was no real consistency within product lines for fit (i.e. one brand did not seem to have a higher number of models that worked than others).

I ended up with something from Tifosi (because it was on sale and matched my bike), and another pair from Rudy Project (because I really wanted photosensitive lenses).

I don't know if I tried on anything from the "Asian fit" line from Oakley, but I do recall that I didn't find any of their earpieces/stems particularly comfortable.

You may just end up having to go try on a lot of pairs somewhere. Finding the right balance between nosepieces that work, room for cheekbones, curvature of face (or lack of, in my case) was a tricky process. (And eyelash rub annoys the crap out of me, too.)

Go with Rudy Project. It fits my DH perfectly! He tried the Oakley's Asian fit... doesn't really work still. The bottom of the lens still sit on his cheeckbone.

I will look into the Rudy Project--any special models that might be good for me? :)

I've heard so much about the Rudy Project sunglasses that I'm a little intimidated :p

Oakley's Asian Fit Radars worked for me and some of my teammates. Nothing else did, and I've used several different kinds of RPs, Smiths and Tifosis.

PS... Beware of eBay sellers who sell "Asian fit." I know someone who bought some on ebay only to receive the regular ones. It wasn't labeled as such and it took him awhile to figure out why it wasn't working for him. By the time he realized it was the wrong product, it was too late to return the item.

This may be due to the shape of that particular lens. I tried the larger lenses (called XLJ, I think) that come with the flak jackets, and they were too big and rested on my cheeks. I switched to the regular lenses and they are perfect. I adore them.

On my bike I wear Dash SS by Native. They stay on my nose okay and have just enough vertical clearance to not cut into my cheekbones. Except sometimes when I'm also wearing a beanie under my helmet and everything gets a bit snugger-fitting. I like that I can change out the lenses depending on the light conditions.

For casual wear -- driving or walking around -- I've had really good luck with Maui Jim's. I'm on my third pair (don't have them handy at the moment), and they've got lots of different styles for all kinds of face shapes/head sizes. Excellent quality lenses, too.
