Since I ride to work most of the winter anyway, it's not going to change much for me, but our City is sponsoring a Winter Bike to Work Day today. I don't think they were expecting temps forecast to hit 70 though.
There are still a few clues that make me think it's winter though...it's dark when I leave and it'll be dark when I come home, and there will be wind.

70F high, sunny, breezy, hundreds of cyclists, definitely not my usual winter commute.

Ha ha yeah! It was crazy warm! I was expecting a festival of tights this morning, but no deal. I wish I had moseyed up to the county building or whatever for the goodies they were giving away. Unfortunately after the headwind I rode home in last night and the uphill game of chase I played with another rider my legs were screaming at me! I figured the direct route was a good plan. Oh well.
The only thing that sucks about commuting to Longmont is the EVIL wall of cold that you hit on 119 at Niwot. UGH! I had to pack my uber coat in my leeeetle messenger bag. Good thing I had it because by the time I turned down airport it was no longer a matter of "I can suck it up." I am a cold weenie!
Fun day in all though. Everyone rode in today, go us!

Have you tried layering with merino wool?

Tried would be the key word. I got all giddy over a Swobo wool jersey on Chainlove and ordered a black one in a Large based on the reviews that it fit the ample breasted. Uh, not it didn't. It was super short and my ta-tas were pushing its capacity. I sold it to a TINY coworker. I saw her in it the other day and it fit her perfectly.
I think if it cools down again I'll be alright. I can deal with being a little too warm in Boulder for a bit. The uber coat isn't THAT big, it's the Descente Shelter jacket, but it sure fills out my bag! And to put it on is such a production because I have to take my MP3 player out of my back pocket and put it in the sleeve. I love that feature when the weather dictates the jacket though, for sure. I just cannot believe how warm that thing is. I have big burly coats from Columbia that aren't as warm.
