There aren't many days left to sign up for this but it would be awesome if one of you lovely gals got to do this. Trek does a thing where they give you a bike, clothes, support from a local shop, etc. in exchange for you blogging about your riding and experiences on their website. I can't do it because there are several huge conflicts with work and all, but Pardes? Pardes? Where are you my dear? They would be blessed to have you, especially because last years gals were mostly young whipper snappers. Oh and your ride reports are such a absolute joy to read.
In one place it says deadline is the 24th, in another it says the 25th so I would hedge my bets on the 24th. Good luck!

"Why do I ride?" How to encompass that in 500 words or less??

Kfergos- Coming from a background in writing it was very hard. My first attempt was 670 words. I did a lot of editing and still tried to keep the meaning I wanted.

I entered. I probably won't get chosen, but I tried anyway. I hope one of us TE women are chosen. How cool would that be?
I hopped on the website but could not find where to enter to be one of the sponsored Trek riders?? Can you help me out as to where to find this info?
THanks:D

I entered with a very short essay. Does it mean that you have to ride a Trek bike if you are chosen? I wouldn't say no to another bike, but I can't imagine wanting to ride one more than my Luna or Friday...
I submitted an essay because I had nothing better to do at work! It was a fun topic to think about. :) Very cool if someone from this forum got chosen.

Sounds fab - shame it's US only... :(

My husband and I were wondering that. I own a Cannondale that only the drivetrain on a Madone could be an improvement and a Scott that is basic. It seems they give you one bike but I road and mountain bike so I would at times not have a Trek under me unless of course they gave me two. ;) I doubt I will win anyhow but it was worth a shot.

Hmm. Tempting but I already won a Trek Fuel EX mtb two years ago and just bought a Trek 2.3 road bike. Don't need to add another to the 10 bikes in the garage, and besides that, WSD does not fit my short legs and long torso. BTW I like my Treks. That's what my amazing LBS carries.

I really would like to sign up, but it keeps telling me that my photo is too large. I am using a 2K avatar of my face and they say the limit is 350K. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I saved two files - one .jpg and one .gif and neither works.

I'm a little tech-simple and couldn't resize my photos, either.
There is an email address on there to which you can send your essay, photos and info if you're having trouble uploading from the form.
It is trek_club@trekwomenwhoride.com
That's how I did it.

Could be your total kilobyte size of your file is ok, but the pixel dimensions might be too big.

Yeah that makes no sense to me. LOL
Well, I got an email back from the techhies and they said I can email them. Good.

Thanks for the info. on this. I entered too. My essay, if you stretch it a bit in definition, was brief. Hmmm, blog material, maybe not. Oh well... Good luck to all!

LOL, I just counted mine and it was only 186 words.
A few women here submitted last year. None were chosen.

I think they got 10,000 last year. I hope it is one of us but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Those are pretty long odds. :(

I sent mine in a hair late... this year it was not so easy to get to from their website, so they might not have as many entries.
We'll just see! I think they would be crazy not to pick somebody from the TE group - it would mean coming along with a fan club already!

It also stunk that the photo thing was so disagreeable. :) My photos were 23K, that seems to me to be well below the limit of 350K. Here's hoping my email was acceptable and not too late. Couldn't hurt, though I find it hard to keep anything below 500 words!

I find it disagreeable that they ask for photos at all. No matter what they say, the will choose based on the photos. But best of luck to everyone.
