Well, well, well! What a weekend, pity I had to drag myself in to work today, but only for 5hrs.

Saturday I spent the whole day just tooling around. I went into Bend, looked into a new wheel set. Sat enchanted as a cute boy talked about building the most wonderful wheelset ever. Would be nice, but off the rack is more in my reality right now. Took myself and my bike, not as messed up as I first thought, over to PMS and test rode my LeMond Croix de Fer and looooved it! Steel rocks! Steel, is sooooo real. It didn't make one single effort to beat me up! No feeling every pine needle, though aluminum does make me feel like the princess and the pea. :p I even have a name for it, the gal who special ordered it, and backed out is Margaret, that's such a good name for a bike. I dunno though, much more innuendo potential with a boy named bike.

I even went to Second Season Sports to oogle old bikes. Found a Kona road bike in my size, but the real lust inducing bikes, the Kestrel and the Gunnar cross bike were a bit too big. Oh to be taller!

After killing time at Barnes and Noble I went to Phil's trail as a lightning, pouring rain, hail storm was a brewing. I gave some out of towners a little greif, got on my "I'm local, I can take it" horse and rode off. It was fun, the rain felt awesome, thunder sounded cool, up until I got into the dry canyon and it boomed and echoed so loud I nearly wet myself. I came barreling back, tossed my bike in the pickup and started changing shoes fast as I could. I rolled down to the meadow where my new out of town friends were parked and apologized, "I'm sorry, I said it usually blows over in 15 mins. And then, as we chatted I realized what makes mountain bikers so cool. They shared their beer with me! Awwww. About 5 minutes into the hail we gave up and headed home, *sigh* foiled by the weather.

Sunday I got the pleasure of riding with Sarah and her troops, what a blast! That is the greatest group, I don't think I've ever had as much fun on a group ride. I had to keep reminding myself to relax. Hello HillBill, no one here thinks their super racer, or at least they aren't letting on. Anyway, I showed everyone why I'm grounded from whoops, especially ones of size, and ones of size at the bottom of hills. I was having a little too much fun, going a little faster than I should, with my weight at the wrong end of my bike. Apparently I left a nice "Smurf was here" S in the dirt with my front tire before I spilled over the handle bars. Oh well, crashing builds character, in a few years it might brake bones, but for now, character. Needless to say my hip that took the brunt is SORE! It was fun though, until the suspended animation moment when I realized I was going down.

Oh well, all those times I fell off my horse were practice! ;)
