View Full Version : Where's KSH?
Hey, Karen, where are you?
I know from your BT log that you're still alive, but please let us know what's up with you!
Anyone has more information?

She's active daily on BT. She's going through some personal stuff but basically OK.
I'm still alive and kicking! Not out of the game or being a bum after my Ironman!
The personal stuff I'm going through is that I got laid off on 12-31-08. It's OK though. I have a lot of promising leads though and I feel confident about getting a new job. Luckily I have 12 years of experience in my field! So I'm enjoying my time off, and staying positive.
Otherwise I'm training for a marathon with my friend. She lives in Minnesota, me in Texas. After watching my Ironman all day via the internet and my finish, she was totally pumped to do something healthy for herself.
She asked me to come visit her and said I could do a tri. I found a WALKING marathon in Minnesota and told her I would come visit IF she did the marathon with me. She said she would... and the plan was made! That will be May 16, 2009.
So the girl (me) who said, "I will NEVER do a marathon unless it's behind swimming and cycling", is doing a stand alone marathon. HA! I'll also be doing like 3 1/2 marathons along the way. I guess never say never... right?
Once that's done I'll be back to tri's... so probably starting in June/July of this year. Now I just have to get back on my bike! I rode 35 miles in December and ran 50 miles. HA.
That's really about it.
What's up with you?
Good to hear that you are, well, up and running. :) I'm sorry about your job but it does sound like you have a pretty good prognosis!
It's funny you say, "Never say never." When I moved to the West Coast, I HATED running, and did it only because I did not have my bike with me yet, and because that's all I could do to keep hanging out with my new friends. (Well, not that I could really hang with them, they were pretty fast.) And now it's pretty much all I do in the winter, except for commuting to work by bike. Oh well!
On my side of things I'm trying to finish my PhD by the summer, so it's a lot of work. Somehow running keeps me sane through that and races provide nice celebrations along the way.
I hope we see more of you now and then. Keep it up!
