I normally ride to the ride, but since I had only did 30 miles so far this year, and if I did the short version and rode, it would have been thirty miles, I drove over.
Did ok except for some pain from the Elbow and wrist at the end, about 24 miles. got dropped in the climbs, which is bit frustrating, considering I had to wait and soft pedal on the flats.
Only one pic today: The "beast" at rest:

After I went into work for a bit (boo VPN was down) I convinced DH that a road ride would be nice instead of the planned dirt ride. We did a new route of roads we ride a lot. It was around 60 which is a bit cool for my thin blood and cloudy which made me feel slightly invisible. I wore a fuschia jersey and had my blinky taillight on.

We also at times had a constant headwind not a strong one but since it was relentless it really tired me out. Towards the end of the ride, when my body was reminding me how little I have rode lately, we saw some boys (maybe 9) who yelled "Hello pretty lady!" as they jumped on their trampoline. It made me smile and I waved at the boys. DH's response was "they already have excellent taste". :D

37.87 miles at a break-neck 13.4 mph. I am amazed at how quicly our fitness can tank, I used to average 15-16 mph on pretty much any ride in our terrain.

Wow!!!! I'd kill for 60!

We left at 9am this morning for a road ride with the bike club. It was 27 degrees on the bank display as we rode by! SO COLD I cannot describe it! The big boys road 60 today. Kim and I did 20 and had to get inside. We decided to go for a warm breakfast and coffee while waiting for the boys to return! I went straight down and bought thicker gloves after I thawed out a bit!!!! Brrr! When does spring come?

I have a farmer tan starting. :D :D. And today's ride was only 3 water bottle ride. Last week was 4 water bottle ride. Out of shape. My speed was similar to Aggie-Ama. :D I think I should have gotten a refil to make it a 4 water bottle ride today. I waasss deeeehyydrated at the end of my training ride.

Hmm you have just described a nightmare for this little Texan. I draw the line at 40 and usually below 45-50 I go mountain biking or just stay home. :o

60 degrees! I wish!! We have had an inversion going on for twelve days now. People are getting so sun starved that they are taking their lunches and driving above the inversion layer, on the road to the ski resort, to have lunch. The only thing nice about the weather is that there isn't any wind! So, I put in another 34 miles at 34 degrees.

Doesn't sound like much wind, but let me say, that felt DARN COLD after a while. 25 miles (errands: Get measured for a dress and stop by my LBS) and I spent my first hour at home in a hot soaky bath. I just had to get out and move, though; Thursday and Friday the highs were below my temp threshold (10°F, apparently) so Saturday it was.

kfergos- You don't do much to convince me you are a sane being. :p

Today I am stuck in the cube farm looking out the window (blessing and curse to have one in my cube) at sunny days. I know it is windy out there because the trees are dancing but I also know it is 70 degrees. I wish I were out there.
