Any recommendations for a sports bra that keeps dry? I'd settle for dryer or dry-ish! I'm a B cup & I don't mind mono-boob too much. I live in Dallas, so hot weather is the prevalent season, but it does get cold occasionally. Just tired of cold & clammy or hot & clammy. The cheapy bra from Target isn't cutting it! Thanks

Would you settle for warm and wet? Then the Ibex wool bra (http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodIB_240.html) (available on TE) is well worth the money.

I sweat heavily, and I've never found a bra that doesn't hold moisture - the fabric just has to be too heavy in order to provide support. But wool stays warm and soft when it's wet, so that's half the battle.

It really doesn't feel wet at all. I'm always surprised when I take it off and find how wet it is.

I have a new adidas bra that I like - it seems to be called surfinia and is made from their "climatecool" fabric. it feels very wicky although I've only used it in cold weather. I'm smallish too.

Oak Leaf - I saw the wool bra. Is it itchy? How do the sizes run?

It's not a bit itchy. That's what's so great about Merino. Size-wize, I'm a 34 B-/A+ and a Small fits me fine.

Well you certainly can't wear it on its own.

But it's not see-through at all.

Not-very-thick I guess is an answer.

I don't know, I have a black one and I can't see anything through it. It might be a little thin in white I suppose, but TE doesn't carry them in white. I guess it would depend on how tight it fits, too; as I mentioned my cup size is pretty small. I don't know why you couldn't wear it on its own (in situations where you'd wear other sports bras on their own); there are no hooks or strap adjusters or anything that screams "underwear."

If you're wondering whether your nipples will protrude, mine do no matter what I wear so I can't really help you there.

I love the little saying on the inside of the band. You will have to buy one to know what it says. ;):p

It's not currently available in white. For Spring, there will be an ivory. Also, they will be making a few more incarnations of it, including a "bralette" for small cups/light support, as well as a more supportive version that has convertible straps (criss cross or regular).

I have had good luck with Champion bras (from www.championcatalog.com, not the C9 brand you can get at Target), particularly the seamless models. They are comfortable, supportive and wick as well as anything else I've tried. I'm a 34A, if that makes a difference. Two or three times a year they have huge sales where all of the bras are $19.99 each -- I usually buy a few every time they have this sale.

I'm not sure "wicking" means that you won't have a soaked bra at the end of your run/ride. I have several different brands of athletic bras (Under Armour, Moving Comfort, and Nike); all of them claim to be wicking, and all of them are soaked through when I finish my workouts. However, to me, this means that the fabric is pulling the sweat away from my skin, which, I think is the goal. Even my "wicking" jerseys and running tops are soaked through when I finish working out. I would love to be dry when I finish my workouts, but I sure haven't found a way to make that happen yet! :(

Segoi makes amazing sports bras that wick and also 'let the heat out'. I am a small woman but have a larger 'top' ... which gets hot and itchy with other sports bras. I have about 15 of these - won't wear anything else. :D

Segoi saved my love for sports!

I love my adidas one. Its suitable formy smaller size and doesnt bunch up or hurt armpits.I dont seem to be sweaty when I wear it, either. So id say it wicks nicely. Dries quick too.
I fancy that wool bra,it gets cold here!!

i just get the cheapo lycra crop top type 'aspire' ones from sports authority (B+ cup) and never had a wet bra yet from sweat, even when my jerseys have been sweaty -- and that's riding in FL-- pretty supportive too.

I like wearing the tank top style full support bra / undershirts. The sweat gets distributed over a larger area so they don't seem to get as wet. They are more comfortable, too, especially if you have a sensitive or lumpy chest (I do.)

For me the C9 bras are actually fine for cycling. For running I do need the greater support of the Champion bras that look very similar to the C9 ones.

I haven't worn it cycling yet but I recently bought one of the Ibex wool bras and it's a seriously well designed and made garment. Most impressed :) And they're made from NZ merino! Very cool :)

I think it will be fab for those activities (not just cycling) where you sweat and then you cool down and then you sweat again and cool down again, and cotton just gets cold and clammy and uncomfortable. Wool is warm when wet :)

are there any sports bras for the smaller girls that will give us some bumps? When squished I look like I have just mosquito bites.

Try the Alexis from Moving Comfort: http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodMC_505507.html This link shows the the 2008 colors. 2009 colors will be both prints and solids. The bra has removeable padded cups that give a VERY nice shape.

You're welcome. :)
I was back in the warehouse earlier today, and saw that we've just received a shipment from Moving Comfort that contains the new Alexis Bra colors. Should be up on the site within a few days.

(quoting because it's too late to edit) For comparison purposes, the support level of the Ibex bra is about halfway between the C9 and the shiny Champion, IMO.

This is my new fav for running: http://www.movingcomfort.com/dyn_prod.php?p=300062&k=120385

It comes in a 32 C (yay!) and doesn't overly squish, but gives very good support. I'm sure the guy at the running shop thought I was nutso jumping up and down in the dressing room (the curtain didn't come down to the floor, so he could probably see my feet jumping up and down). But, that's the best way I've found to see if a bra is going to provide me with enough support.

Second best is: http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/womens/underwear/pid1001143-Women-s-Shaper-Bra-C-Cup-/1001143-001

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like TE carries either of these.

The Moving Comfort has Coolmax, but not DriLayer which is Moving Comfort's "wicking" property. It gets soaked when I work out. The Under Armour supposedly has "Two-ply HeatGearŪ construction accelerates moisture transport," but it is always soaked as well. I guess I just sweat a lot.

Are the vertical stripes slenderizing and the horizontals enhancing?

I like the brands CWX and ShockAbsorbers.

I have a few different CWXs I bought from here on TE. The ShockAbsorbers brand is a UK one. A nice bra site is FigLeaves.com (they have both a UK site and USA site).

I am a cotton hater. It will just leave you soaked. All of my bras are the silky wicking fabric. Works well I think:).

I have to say that I have never worn the sports like style bras.. to me it looks like too much material for myself when I'm small anyway.

Besides I don't wear sleeveless anything when I'm cycling or hiking..no matter how hot it gets. Just a personal rule...to keep the skin of my chest, upper arms and upper back area .."preserved". :p (And it really has proven true for me over the years...compared to skin on my face.)

I just wear an ordinary bra underneath.. but just like everyone else, still wicking and sweating problem.

I wear lululemon bras (not too busty) and they work well. They have a lift and separate bra that is made of this really light, silky material (tactel fabric) and then they have this deep v bra that comes with removeable cups that looks good if you're not too busty and you want some shape.

I've tried different sports bras and last year I bought a Moving Comfort bra. It wicked somewhat but the problem I have with bra is that it seems to dig into my ribcage--even with the largest size. I live in a region that has high humidity and temps in the summer so I tried something else that I wore in the heat of the summer--Wacoal T-Back bra. (http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=301&langId=-1&storeId=301&productId=500482228&N=1626427&searchUrl=%2Fendeca%2FEndecaStartServlet%3FN%3D1626427&R=00013343)

Even though it's underwire it's very comfie and it has never chaffed me. It works nicely under my bib shorts too. As a C cup, I am much cooler in this bra than other uni-boob style bras. I call it my hotter n hell bra.
