I just heard that the city of Vancouver has approved funding for a safe cycling skills program for children in the municipality. For ages 8-10 yrs. (I think). Roll-out will occur much later next year. But those involved in working with teachers...are some cyclists who are certified primary schoolteachers themselves and would know how to work with the children. Also a retired principal who himself is a cyclist and advocate.
Though it covers 15% of all children in the district, it's a start! One of the main stakeholders to decide which school would be in this program would be the school principals. Their approval is required first before anything else.
