Just thought I'd let everyone know that I had a big break through tonight in my maturation process. Since I'm packing to leave for Oregon at 10 o'clock at night, I decided that I could let go of the the iron grip I like to have on organization and being prepared for anything. You might ask what was my epiphany? I threw my toilet kit in my duffel without even looking to see if there was sufficient toothpaste, shampoo, etc. for the trip.
I figured there's groceries in them thar boondocks of Bend and surely I could find whatever I might need. I feel so liberated. :p :D

PS - there may be a smurf sighting. We'll be taking bait and binoculars.

Isn't that realization liberating?
My line (which my children have grown tired of) is "I'm not packing for an Antarctic expedition, I'm going to (Boston, Vancouver, my home town, wherever), I'll be able to buy whatever it is I'm forgetting."
What a feeling of freedom!
Let us know about the smurf(s).

the word is that the trails right now, there, are in the best condition as in perfect. SK, do you have a cell? There is a remote chance I may run down there this weekend to do MRT and some of the trail with some Idaho pals. Remote but you never know.

Irulan, just sent you a PM. Do we need to special bait for you? :D
There are higher elevation trails that are probably snow-free earlier than normal due to your drought, but curious if the winter timber-fall has been cleared. I love those gum rubber trails in the Cascades.

no need to worry about groceries, there's even a costco. Very civilized there.

ooooh... I'm envious... I LOVE Bend! Used to snowboard at Mt. Bachelor every year... really, really beautiful! Have a great time and please, please go to Deschutes Brewery and have a beer in my honor! :) It just doesn't get any better... sigh... :D

Ya know, I'm glad I live in a dumpy old farm house in Redmond because I just might have been offended by those cracks at my former home of Bend. I don't miss poverty with a view, Redmond is home sweeeeet home. Hey, you'll have to let me know the ride schedule. I'm trying to get outta work Monday, or are you going home that day? Anyway, I emailed you my digits, still can't get to my email at work.
