<<Sniff>> :(
DH busted the glass carafe to our 8-cup coffee maker yesterday.
I knew that day would eventually come. They always do.

Do you know how hard it is to find a coffee maker with an 8-cup GLASS carafe?? Darned near impossible, but I found one a few years ago on Target.com. Now, they don't carry it any more, and I can't find a replacement carafe for it anwhere.

An 8-cup maker was PERFECT! A 4-cup machine is too small, and our 12-cup machine is a monster...takes up way too much space on the counter and is mostly unused when I just need to make enough coffee for the 2 of us to have 2 cups each morning. :( Good for parties, but way too much for every day use.

I'm so upset. We're using the 12-cup monster until we find something smaller.

Thrift shops / Charity shops?

Have you checked the web site for your coffee maker manufacturer? They might have replacement carafes there.

Nope. It's a standard looking drip coffee maker - like this (http://www.target.com/Kitchen-Selectives-10-Cup-Coffeemaker-CM802/dp/B000HTS2R2/qid=1228080129/ref=br_1_6/184-8360531-2132519?ie=UTF8&node=255022011&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1).

This is the brand, but I can't find anything from them.

Thanks. I've seen that one. First, we threw away the top  - Pause-and-serve would need it to trigger the flow of water. Also, I don't think a Krups would fit on our machine. It is (or rather...was) a rather bulbous carafe.

I've never cared for French presses....sorry. Maybe they make wonderful coffee, but to me they seem like too much work. :o Plus, I like the idea of having the coffee turn on first thing in the morning and having the pot stay warm while I do other things.

True. I've yet to see an automatic French Press :o
