Just got a flyer in the mail from Seven - looks like they're introducing 3 commuter bikes. No details on the website yet (and just a mention on the blog from what I see), but I bet they'll be cool.

Model names: the Parcours, the Mokeefe and the District.

Anybody know anything else?

No...but I saw that on the blog and I've been dying to see what they've got. When I saw your post...I thought they were finally up! :(

They're up (for anyone who hasn't already seen them):

Not sure what I think. They certainly aren't what I was expecting. And I certainly don't expect a Surly fork on a Seven (I LOVE my Surly, don't get me wrong, but it was less than a third of the least expensive of these).

Several choices they made are a little odd for a serious commuter (just my own opinion). I do admire Seven road bikes a great deal.
Am I correct in that you can only see pix of the Parcours for now?

A bit beefy--when I commuted I loved the lightness of my Jamis Coda, and after riding it for a few years, I wanted dropped bars for my commuter. My commute was on the long side--14 miles each way--and I would have liked drops.

I would bet that you could get drop bars on those, if you requested it.

That Mokeefe sounds like my perfect commuter (if it had drops)! Now...if I win the lottery - I might actually consider it. :p

That is one cool lookin' handlebar on the Parcours.

These are for commuters with inside storage spaces, for sure. You won't be locking that up to the fence outside.

Yeah, I'm a little luke-warm on them. Perhaps they are okay for bombing around Boston. And those handlebars don't really "do it" for me for where and how I commute. I don't think, anyway. I'd have to try them, perhaps.
I don't see what they offer, versus, say a customized Muse (their straight gauge touring frame) or Mudhoney (their 'cross frame) built up with discs and rack mounts and such.
But yeah, when I win the lottery, I'll get a Seven commuter.... built up just the way I want it......
