Hello everyone,

I figured this Christmas I could hopefully stock up on cycle gear!!! I was wondering what you would ask for...

(I know that I need another pair of shorts, I have some, but I don't like the padding of the Chamois)

Let me know your Christmas list!!!

This year I asked for non-cycling stuff. I am pretty stocked.

In the past: Shorts, knickers, tights, long sleeve jerseys, wool socks, SS jerseys, long finger gloves.

I have gotten DH bibs, jerseys, jacket, gloves, new helmet. This year tools.

My siblings and I just exchange amazon wishlists for christmas, so I sort of put a variety of items on from $5 up (just in case someone's low on cash this year) - For cycling stuff, I put in some teflon coated shifter & brake cables, because I can always use those, blinky lights and a headlight, a rear basket for the bike, and a compact crankset.

Hmm. I just got a new bike, so I'm not expecting much. I could use a long sleeved jersery (been a little chilly) and socks are always fun and cheep. If someone is feeling extravagant I'd like a trainer.

Ibex tops. Fleece bolero. Glove liners. Baby, it's cold outside!

I'm pretty stocked up with bike stuff too. Hubby always teases me that I have enough jerseys to get me through an entire summer without having to wear a single jersey twice! Of course that's an exaggeration

This year I've been hinting around for a kindle (http://www.amazon.com/gp/mpd/permalink/mQOQX2V7KT9ZY:m4H02MFJUILVP). I love to read but just like my bike stuff my bookshelves are overflowing. The kindle (http://www.amazon.com/gp/mpd/permalink/mQOQX2V7KT9ZY:m4H02MFJUILVP) is the way to go for me! :D I hope he's getting my hints.

Well, I haven't really asked out right..because it I myself know it's been time-consuming so far...replacement panniers. I'm picky and hate the ones that are hard to take off rack.

No, other than that I haven't asked for cycling-specific stuff for Christmas. Only perhaps 1-2 Christmases I've asked for cycling-specific stuff, usually small.

Since he is a cyclist, he does inevitably gets me something bike-oriented either for Christmas or for my birthday. Hence, no reminder for him... :):o

hmmm... I just got a new road bike for the NEXT 10 Christmas and then some from my DH. But because I commute to work everyday, in the rain and dark, he bought me a really bright headlights too.

How about a pair of sunglasses with interchangeable lens?

I know DH wants a compact crank set.

Stocking stuffers from the under $20 list might be wool socks, anti-chafing cream, energy gels/ blocks, mini blink lights, bells, tire patches, beanies and headbands, etc...

I don't want anything actually.

I'd be happy if someone gave me an envelope stating a farm animal, bike, or something has been given to a community in need.

I need panniers for my newly-converted commuter, but they're not on my Christmas list as I live in Minnesota and am not a year-round-even-in-the-snow-and-below-zero rider. I'll more likely be asking for them for my birthday (June 14).

On Sunday my brother and I ordered a fluid trainer for our parents. It also came with some DVDs, the mat, and the thong. I know they were planning on just getting one because they're expensive, so now maybe they can still get it and both be able to leave their bikes hooked up. I'm getting my brother a jersey and lights, and I picked up a hi-viz vest for my parents to give to him. I also got my mom some shoes. She'll never use clipless pedals, but I think she'll benefit just from having a stiffer sole. I think I'll pick up some basic tools, like tire levers and tubes to give everyone, too. Oddly, I'm not sure if I asked for cycling stuff myself. I asked for train commuting supplies like a better backpack, wellies, and some rain pants. I'll always take more jerseys and socks, and I'd like full-finger gloves and knickers. I hear my uncle got me the Princeton Tec Yukon headlight, so I'm excited to try that out.

Gift certificate and dinner reservations at one of the better restaurants in town - some place where I'll need to get dressed for dinner. Maybe even need to buy a special dress.

Oh, and a dinner date....

I did ask for books: cycling, adventure travel types. Toe Warmer shoe covers are an excellent stocking stuffer I got one year. ;)

I asked for a new trainer for Christmas. My old one that I got used off Craig's List is just too noisy. I am getting DBF a new watch for running.

Nothing unless it is a donation to Heifer International or Kiva.org.

Matter of fact, I'm going to call my parents today and tell them that they'd make my Christmas if they'd walk the talk. They shout the virtues of these two organizations to the rooftops yet I just received notice that their Kiva certs from last year are about to expire because they didn't do a damn thing. Just think of the good that money could have done in a year. Grrrrrrr.

I've been taking mechanic classes from my LBS so I have some tools on my wish list. Of course a bike stand would be extra fabulous too.

A few of us were discussing how handy it would be for the LBS to have a gift registry. They have all our info in their computer system anyhow so why not put some gift suggestions in the extra spaces.

Christmas came early for me in the form of a fluid trainer this past weekend (Cheap find from CL)!
So the new and amended list now asks for spinerval DVD's.

My Bike Friday was Christmas and birthday, but I have asked for the Graham Watson calendar. I love the pictures.

I know a gift is a gift, and greatful we should be regardless, however:rolleyes:...

It would be nice to see some of the relative gift $ that ends up going to waste be for something I actually want. I try and try and try to tell em, hey... I have enough "kitchen stuff" to last 10 women for 10 years (it's a sick control thing really, bleah)...

*g*e*a*r*, umm gift cards to get gear, cash to get gear...

Think I'll plan ahead to donate things this year. It would give me the gift of riding with a lighter heart that someone else got use out of it:cool:.

I didn't ask for any cycling related stuff...

I had a whole list, but then I crossed half of it as I ended up buying those things myself (saddle for my horse, new pair of riding boots, etc).

I still want the new Macbook but figured now won't be a good time to ask with the current economy. Plus we also had a lot of moving expenses (buying new furniture, etc).

Since it is also my birthday on January 2, I said he could combine the xmas gift with my birthday gift. So a month's worth of riding lessons, and him doing the dishes (or putting them in the dishwasher) for a month :)

I just bought myself a Madone, so I'm definiltey covered in the Christmas-present-to-self category. I'm asking for a set of Conti Gatorskins and for some tools...not bike tools, but regular tools. I want a small power saw of some kind. Lately I've been doing some home improvement projects, like patching the roof on my shed, where I've had to improvise because I don't have any way to cut wood.

I kind of wish we'd get away from presents in our family. There aren't any little kids, and I think it's kind of silly for all us adults to buy for each other. But that doesn't stop me from giving out a few suggestions here and there

I have all the cycling stuff I need and so much other..well, stuff, right now. I've been so blessed to have a family that has really helped me out a lot while i've been unemployed, and I know a lot of people who are not so lucky and on the verge of losing everything. I'm thinking of asking my family to give an anonymous donation to people we know in dire need. I'd like a Macbook, but that's really a "want" vs "need."

Because I want to downsize our house, I have asked for consumables. I already have enough Stuff I have to find a place for.

Wine is good, as is chocolate or gourmet pasta. Really good tea is always appropriate for me.

Clothing counts as a consumable. Fun socks, cool tops. Gloves.

Bike shop gift certificates.

I'd be happy with a gift in my name for a good charity. (I wouldn't have to find a place to keep that!)

The only bike-related stuff I asked for was a pair of yellow lenses for my Oakley Flak Jackets and donations to the 2009 Livestrong Challenge.

My personal trainer just started bike commuting, so I bought him a pair of warm wool socks (organic), a blinky light and a couple of spare tubes.

We're giving each other leather bar tape for the tandem.
And cases of yellow label so we're ready for post-ride celebrations.
