I bought a TYR belt for my races this year. It drives Thom crazy because the snaps don't line up with the holes in the race numbers. So either he puts new holes in the number to make it fit or the number gets squished up.
BTW all my race numbers this year have been exactly the same size with the wholes 6 5/8 inches apart.
I want to get a new race belt for next season, but I want one that the number actually fits on or is truly adjustable. Suggestions?

Safety pins?
don't pull the locks up all the way?
Fashion your own with a piece of elastic?
add wee bungy loops to replace the existing ones?

I have the Zoot one with the toggles that I like to use because it is more adjustable. I wonder why they make the toggles/snaps so far apart... I've never yet had a bib number that actually fits perfectly onto it, they're always much smaller!
Anyway the toggles work better for me because the elastic part hangs down a bit so you can make it work for a smaller bib better.
But safety pins work too.

The TYR one had the opposite problem - the snaps are too close.

I use the fuel belt brand race # belt. It has longer elastic pieces that the toggles attach to, to allow for different sized race numbers.
I think it cost about $14
There are pictures of me wearing it on my blog if you want to get an idea of the fit.
HTH! :)

I have 3 now from 3 races :-) I'll have a whole box within a couple years. I can open a mail order business then.
toggles and bits of underwear elastic (bungee cord) should be available at any sewing shop. You could probably amend your belt with those.

I got this one for the marathon:

my race number fit FAR better than it does on any of my tri belts. It might be overkill for a tri but if you wanted something that also holds some gel packets, this is a good one.

I used this one - nice soft elastic, toggles in the right place for me. I'll see if I can find my picture.
