Yay! Jose at Landry's is the rustbucket's savior. I dropped by there for a part and told them I was having issues getting the headset apart and they offered to take a whack at it. I left it for a day and came back and Jose had gotten it off, regreased it all for me, and barely charged me for it. So great. Now I just need a bottom bracket and then reassembly can commence!

It's nice to hear that Landry's did something good for a customer. It sounds like your project is coming along.

Yeah, I've never had a problem there- both the Natick and Westboro stores have always been super helpful. Andy (the fitter at Natick) has always been especially helpful and honest with me, which is a nice change from the half-assed service I get where we bought our road bikes. He's the one who suggested I bring it by to let Jose give it a try. Nice to know a guy who's used to selling multiple thousand dollar bikes will help with low end projects too.
Did you find out how he did it?

No, he wasn't there when I picked it up. I know when I left it he was spraying it with boeshield (which I hadn't tried) and just using 2 pedros wrenches on it, not sure what else he had to do to get it off.
