My weakest ride of the year!:(

Silver and I and a couple of local friends (who are Ironmen) drove to Shawnee National Forest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawnee_National_Forest) to join a group of Illinois locals on a hilly ride.

Oh My Gosh! I was anything but feeling strong!

http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/invitation/email/accept.mb?senderPk.pkValue=143480&unitSystemPkValue=2&episodePk.pkValue=7117499

It started with a .5 mile 200 foot climb to "Bless the Statue" of Tecumseh(wish I recorded that one in my Garmin), then 10 miles of rollers, then roundtrip 22 miles with most of the rides 4,600 feet of climbing, returning to the 10 miles of rollers (passing on that last climb to 'bless the statue').

Out of the group, I was last to come in and feeling quite whipped

But, I didn't fall, didn't bonk, didn't walk, and I finished:cool:

Wow, I'm impressed.

If I had been on the ride, I'm sure I would have stopped at blessing the statue and waited for all of you to return.

Great work, Mr. S. Actually, I like being the caboose. Treat yourself to something nice.

Honey, if that was MY "weakest" ride of the year, I'd be about three times as strong as I am.

Ummm...that's anything but weak!!!

4,400' of climbing in 44 miles with an average of 13.8?!?! That's not weak!!! That's strong!

(Especially for a "Flat Lander" like you :D)

Great job!

In case no one has noticed, Mr. S has gone from being a pudgy guy who rode around on his marshmallow butt in a 4 wheeled gas guzzling "zoom-zoom"... to a lean mean Quads-of-Steel human pedaling machine. Yeah, not too shabby for a 'flatlander'.

Good News! One of the things that made this ride weak was dropping my chain several times. Turns out my front derailleur was broken! So it wasn't all just me.;) Hmmm, 1,500 mile DuraAce!

In addition, stress fractures were found on my RaceXLite real wheel!

Is this as opposed to your fake wheels? ;):p
