Hi,
First, yes I have Ian with when i do open water swim practice. He's my marker & swims ahead a bit on the boogie board.
I have an open water swim event (www.swimthrurotto.com) in mid december that i'm training for & need some assistance. I'd like to do a few more & they're anywhere from 1.2km to 2km's. They're all ocean based.
1-I wonder how you swim with the waves? I sort of just swim with it but is that the right thing to do?
2-I practiced sighting but is there a trade secret I should know? I find that I almost have to do a breastroke stroke every little bit but that just slows ya down.
If anyone has any suggestions etc, please pass them on :) I'm clueless when it comes to swimming in the ocean other than for pleasure. I assume you have to trust the water.
One more FYI..At our group swim sessions on M &Thurs (in the pool)we do about 2km.
